Yesterday I added practice mode to Word500. It is likely the last development I will do for the site. I hope the 400-600 players/day continue to enjoy the game!

I was hoping for a reset button for that but you can just refresh the browser and it resets them all back to black.

I don't think I've ever had a game with no yellow letters before.

Does anyone else believe/notice that there are some significant subconscious processes going on as we try and solve these. Of course we are all consciously looking for common word/letter patterns and then make some significant deductions before finalizing the next turn.

But, I have found (whether in Gabe's game or Wordle) that when I am in a spot where I am trying to confirm locations of known letters, while also combining some unused letters for new info, that I hit the word with far greater frequency than I would expect. I am not sure how often I have said to myself, I was not really even going for the word there, just trying (for example) to see if the known O was in the 2 spot, the known E was in the 4 spot, and whether and of LPD would be in play, and I went LOPED and it was the word??

There were a ton of options available, yet somehow I got drawn to the actual word.

Anyone else find this happens more than one would expect?

I find it much more common on Wordle. Often in Word500 you know you have it as you are typing it in.

But, all this could be
1. Me overestimating the times it happens - it is happening no more or less than it should based on "consciously" using all the info at hand
2. There were not as many "other" options as I might have thought

Mention of Word500 today, by Scott Strohsal on Memeristor's livestream. About 1.5 hours in. It was brief, in a list of word games.

He also published two word500 videos on his channel.

I saw them! It's impressive that he has Word500 in mind, given that he has done so many videos with other games.

It may have something to do with me contacting him and introducing word500 to him. Also I was for everal weeks an active member of the Discord channel he is in.
