There's some strategy to it based on number of words and total points available. Players are getting better at judging whether or not to go with more time based on that info. I've seen strategy evolve with several players as time and experience goes up.

No penalty for duplicate words, it just takes me a few seconds to delete them.

BTW, the record for duplicate words is held by ROARoman with 21. And, NO, I'm not wanting someone to beat that.
