$2.5 billion in liquidations in the last 24 h, over half of that in one hour. Yikes. Only question I’m wondering is to buy more now, a bit later or both.

So I don't know a god damn thing about crypto, which given my field is pretty sad.

Anyway, suppose I just want to regularly buy $X worth of BTC every month. I don't want to look at any prices or anything. I just want to dump some amount of money into BTC every month like I do with mutual funds and not have to worry about anything. So really I just want it to be easy so that I don't have to think about it, with the lowest transaction fees I can get. How should I go about this?

Maybe let me ask a better question that’s a bit less “let me google that for you”.

What is a good, unbiased source of info to figure out your options for buying/storing crypto? Like a FAQ that isn’t trying to sell me a bunch of ****. It feels like a lot of the information is really just an advertisement for someone.

Bitcoin.org recommended to me BRD, which then tried selling me BTC with a 6% fee which seems kinda insane. I downloaded Coinbase because it was highly rated, and they charged 3% which still seems high (I’ve read it can be 1%, but they don’t list which places offer that). I don’t think either of these apps support recurring purchases.

use coinbase pro. you already have it. just log in with your coinbase info. it's the same.

coinbase pro most expensive fee is 0.5% for maker and 0.5% for taker. im not sure excatly what that means lol. but i know it's a lot less than 3%

https://www.thebalance.com/coinbase-...se-pro-5116733

the article basically says just use coinbase pro

Is there a smallest dollar amount of Bitcoin that I can buy? Ditto Ethereum.

Yes and no. The smallest amount of bitcoin is 0.00000001. For ether it's 18 decimals. On an exchange they each likely have their own minimums that's probably $1 or so.

However, the fee's will likely kill small dollar purchases.

Congress held a hearing on the future of US crypto policy.

Not trying to start a political discussion here, but this thread may be interested in the speculative implications of what went down. The witness introductions end around 49:00.
