It is not good for mets to passive-aggressively raise this issue during an ongoing game that he was part of that featured his "problem"

I think he's mostly lost his GOAT wolf rep, which is probably partly due to the changing POG climate, him having less time/focus and it generally being harder to wolf the more you do it.

But yeah, being considered a really good wolf can definitely hurt your villa rep, and that was prob the case for a while. I could be wrong but I feel like WN has never really been considered a consensus elite villager, and I think he's at least close to that level (depending on how strictly you define these things). Although lol consensus and all that :P

not quite sure where to put this/who to tell

if you are on a game page (say, POG Anniversary VI but it's true of all games), the (link) link next to the game name redirects back to that very page instead of the actual game thread on 2p2. The (link) next to the game name in a list (say, of games played) fine.
