but nevertheless, even if it’s talking about “in game”, there really isn’t a need to be overly graphic about the violence involved imo

and I think mets’s choice of words is probably in that category of being needlessly graphic

I think it’s only slightly more graphic than “let’s all shoot XXX in ITAs” but your proposed way of treating the situation (i.e. sending a PM to the player and ask them not to do that) seems reasonable and harmless, so I am not going to fight you over it other than to say that I disagree with you.

Easier to just make it policy that I'm never doing that of course-- which I'm pretty sure would also be the villager response there from me.

We're literally playing a game where the rp involves murder and gathering around and mob lynching a person so policying killing language gets a little silly if we're accepting the above.

People who are here know that's the game and sometimes we have roles that kill themselves or people have the opportunity to take themselves out for the greater good of the game.

Using luckbox's sun metaphor is whatever, I don't even really understand what he's saying but he is talking about himself as a person which I think is potentially dangerous or using it lightly is an insult to those who struggle with those thoughts, but they're more likely to use other methods than the sun. I think the real issue is talking about suicide because of depression or mental health in a joking or flippant way, like "i'm gonna kill myself if you vote for me".

Bets within game is an interesting area, it's in the standard rules that nothing can be collected so most don't take it seriously I think, I certainly know nobody would trust anything I would say but I definitely get that newer or weaker players who would say something like that would be less likely to have said it as wolf and it's unfun for the game, wolves are people in the game too, they aren't bad people and they deserve to win the game too.

It's similar to talking about mod conversation, experienced players could fake it, but as soon as a new player talks about it it's just obvious they talked in pms rather than in wolf chat etc.

I've never encountered a betting issue like the dead wives or the xander example being mentioned but I know regardless of my alignment I would be furious that it was said so best to remove that from the game, though I think it could be handled by community policing rather than modkills, I think it's down to the severity, though even saying that I'm not sure, I just hate modkills.

Whatever happened to chips he had great opinions on this kind of stuff.
