Yes, absolutely. If I were an objective observer I would not trust my judgment; given that it's two people it's somewhat more likely to be right, but not by enough. I would think it was an error.
Unless, ya know, the person telling me about it was really eloquent and articulate about it all, in which case clearly it would have to be right.
So yes. Objectively it's ridiculous. I concede that without reservation.
There's another interesting twist on a justification that I COULD use: she's probably the best I can ever do. Objectively, rationally, the issue might not be whether it's magic but whether this maximizes the chances of my winding up with her. That's not what I'm doing (and I'm certainly not sure this is an optimal strategy), but it's a way to look at it.
