Easy — take away my BPD, or the depressive half of it if that's all I get. I'd like to keep the rest of my mind, but I will trade a lot. Make it so that I don't spend months sad for no reason.

I feel like you must have meant something else.

It isn't easy at all. For me the language is so cool and so important that I don't take it lightly.

Beautiful world, useful word, what? Epicurus has noted that my signature word on POG on seems to be arguendo. I like quintessence today, but that's temporary.

There are a number of words I like mostly because I know I use them correctly — an example would be comprise (which most people screw up, meaning compose instead).

By the way, someone else asked about languages. I speak some Italian and some German, but not enough of either to sound terribly intelligent in them. I had one class each in Spanish and French but recall none of them. Of course I spoke Portuguese when I lived in Brazil, but that was thirty-odd years ago and I remember only a few words.

See LuckayLuck's pictorial argument in Lost Wolves, after I had silenced him for a day for a rule violation. I think pictorial werewolf would be pretty cool.

Do you agree that Portuguese is hilarious sounding?

It cracks me up every time I hear it.

Tell us about your experiences in Brazil. Why, where, when?

Brazilian girls, etc

Kukra, that picture is incredibly weird. I have pretty much no idea what the hell that is. Almost like a gannet or booby, but... not.

No, because I didn't speak Spanish before Portuguese, which I think is why it's odd-sounding to you.

The pack is composed of wolves. Wolves comprise the pack.

Dark Knight came out in 2008 and was amazing
Nicole Kidman was in Batman Forever, which was one of the 2 worst Batman Movies, by a different director, producer and writer and batman actor...

Shawshank is my favorite movie of all time, but I can see others not agreeing

Thank you. There is hope.

That's also the example used in An Incomplete Education, the book from which I believe I learned that. I recommend it.

Shows how into movies I am (i.e., not much). Maybe I haven't even seen Dark Knight then.

Wait, I remember it. Yes, it was pretty damn good. I do miss Michael Keaton as Batman, tbh, though — I thought he got it right.

I may have missed it, so my apologies in advance.

Do you take medication for your BPD, if so, which ones. If you don't take any medication, what have you tried in the past and did you find it helped?

I'll do most proud moment now, or one of them.

I was a Presidential Scholar — for those who don't know, one high school senior of each sex from each US state. A week of festivities in Washington, culminating with an award ceremony at the White House. (Reagan was supposed to hand me mine, but one of my fellow awardees decided she wanted to hand him a petition during the whole thing, so they redid the schedule...)

Of course, there's a downside to every atakdog story. As we walked out of the Rose Garden I told my parents, "I'll never be as good at anything ever again." And unfortunately I was pretty much right, at least for decades (until I got my nationally-recognized MCAT program going, perhaps).

aha. the face pattern was wrong for (adult) gannet, so I went by shape.

Which, incidentally, is what's to learn about IDing birds from a book or similar. Our natural inclination seems to be to look at colors or patterns, nbut those aren't as helpful with birding as shape. I actually learned this, involuntarily and unbeknownst to myself until later, during a stretch of a few years when my eyes weren't very good (they're better than 20/20 now, but for a few years I needed glasses to read the board easily — this was around the time I went to law school).

Dark Knight had Heath Ledger as Joker with a magic trick

Answered earlier, mostly. Harold and Maude. I've seen it dozens of times. As for why — it makes me feel good about being alive, and gives me a sense of joy to which to aspire. (Obviously I identify with the suicidal protagonist.)

Plus the car.

Got it. Ledger was not the best part of that one by any means in my opinion — but whenever to was doing batman was pretty close to right.
