Calculus was a strong spot for me, I am at about 3.4 gpa right now and I am white. I have 2 more years of undergrad anyways but I really am hoping to up my GPA a little. I still need to take organic chem.

I have never looked through(so I have no idea of the relative denseness of the material) the economist but I consider my self an above average reader. I definitely have the ability to sit down and read dense articles in a sitting if I have too but would much rather space it out.

Not really. caffeine is pretty much the safest dru there is, and it helps me focus a lot without long-term adverse effects. A good tradeoff imo, even if I didn't just plain like it (which I do).

religion: I am completely atheist. No, I am not weaseling around and saying, gee, there might be, I don't know... as far as I'm concerned there isn't the slightest reason to believe that there is anything other than the universe we see and whose workings we are discovering.

Note,. please, that doesn't mean I lack moral grounding or think that my or others' life is unimportant. I chose to behave as if humans are important — incredibly so. Why? Because failing that, I'd be dead, as I'm suicidal enough (though not as bad as many bipolars) that I'd certainly have taken care of the problem by now if life didn't matter. that may constitute mild self-delusion, but it's conscious so I don't feel too bad about it.

Challenging for me, or for the team, or what? I have a lot of games (maybe 65 or so long ones) to choose from, though vanilla narrows it down.

Anyway, come to think of it theres really only one possible answer: Playboy Party Cruise. This is generally considered the greatest vanilla game in POG history. I had the pleasure of being the villager who got voted at final three for the village loss. I could have avoided it (though afaik no one thinks the loss was my fault: there were other much weaker spots), and it was so painful to go through that, with literally all of POG watching the last days of it, that I think that's what spurred me to ficus on the game and, eventually, get good at it.

Also, it was shortline99's last long game, I believe. He is the best player I've ever played with, and it shows in that game.

As far as I'm concerned comments are perfectly OK, and make for the best discussion; I'd prefer they not stray incredibly far afield such that it really doesn't involve me, but I think that's the limit. So talking about what's important, given that I don't believe there's any chance that a god exists, is totally cool, but talking about the nature of Christianity or something wouldn't do us a lot of good.

No pets. there are dog stories to be and, and some cat stories. One of my dogs was instrumental in convincing me not to kill myself, one of the three times I've come close. His subsequent death, graphically as I watched, was devastating, and even today affects me because if what it did to my law school career (briefly, ****ed it up). If I could have another (I can't where I'm now living) it would be a dog, but probably (you''re all going to laugh) a standard poodle, because I simply can't deal with the hair any more. the dog I mention above, let's call him D, was a German Shepherd, and they shed more than any other dog... and I just couldn't go through that again.

Or, hell, maybe a devon Rex. Cats are not my style at all, but my Devon was awesome. he used to greet me at the door when I got home, and lie down on my feet. If I didn't pick him up he would literally climb up me and sit on my shoulder as I walked around the apartment. And then every night we would get to have a discussion about whether he got to sleep on my face, over my nose and mouth. Eventually we would compromise.


Indications are that pedophilia is pretty ingrained, but I don't think we're doing enough to work on the problem — so much easier to put them on a registry and forec them to live in the boondocks. I also think there's an enormous difference between looking at underage porn and being dangerous, and our system seems not to recognize that nor particularly care.

Soah's better now than he was, and shortline's last game was a year and a half ago, so it's hard to judge, but my opinion based on an imperfect recollection is that yes, shortline was better as an all-around player. Note that he wouldn't be better if he were to show up today, because he wouldn't know anyone, but he would adapt more quickly than anyone else can. I know this because of how he adapted to me — y'all know (or should) that my style is very unusual, and the way he worked it all out, with some impressive details, is what i remember most.

I'm taking the general GRE Wednesday. I'm aiming to crush the math and do sufficient on the rest. Any good rules of thumb to keep in mind for the non math stuff?

As long as the questions don't run out. they usually go about a week. I'm out Wednesday night and most of Thursday, unless the schedule changes, but will pick it up thereafter if there's still activity.

What if anything have you done to study?

If nothing: on the GRE, vocab is king. Go get a Princeton Review book (thirty bucks at any bookstore), checking to make sure it has a list of about 700 vocab words — they'll call it the hit parade. Know every one of those words cold.

I will give you credit for doing the exact same thing with me in my first game here (Lost). Only you truly understood where I was coming from and how my actions should be interpreted. You seemed to have all figured out and it was a bit creepy.

Were/are you teaching standardized tests freelance or through one of the major companies? If you have experience with one of the major companies (in particular the one that rhymes with smrinceton smeview) how would you rate it?

For all the standardized tests you teach, how many tries did it take for you to get perfect? Are there any you have not gotten perfect on? (I'm thinking no if you are repeatedly exposed to them.)

Wolf: Toon Evolution. We destroyed the village, and it wasn't that they were playing badly — we just outplayed everyone throughout. Sixfour was peeked early, but other than him not a single wolf ever had a vote on him at the end of the day, except for the villager we had selected at final nine having his vote on me. Also, I got to play with KyrosMother, who is one of my very favorite people here — and in wolf chat we spent hours talking about all sorts of stuff, way beyond the game.

Villager: I cited Playboy already as being important. No game really stands out as being my best, because I don't think I am really capable of dominating as a villager. I am calm and steady (most of the time), and take arguments apart rather than making new ones. One of the few exceptions was NASCAR, in which at the end I had to intentionally lead the mislynch of a villager (BEG) in order to make it possible to get the final wolf (Hitch), whom I had identified as such, the next day.

Power Role: what I call the Oracle Game, in which I was seer. It's the one in which I started writing my traditional, agrarian – old fashioned flavor stuff. My posts in it are worth a read, for those who like my writing.

I'm bipolar. The exact type is the subject of... well, basically we don't know. I manifested depression at eleven; it wasn't until I was in law school, so almost thirty, that the manic side started to become obvious, though of course it had been there affecting me for decades.

I have had every job there is, it sometimes feels like. Among them, (not comprehensive because I'm tired): management consultant, census taker, manager, bridge club and tournament director, judicial clerk (District and Circuit courts), waiter, and teacher (of test prep).

I'm now, and have been for a while, unemployed. I just had an interview with HRBlock to prepare tax returns, which I'll probably do part time this year while I get some law stuff in order. I intend, somehow (there are barriers) to be practicing law within a year; it's time.

Good question. I hope he isn't like me, but at least we know — except that his mother doesn't really accept that he's other than perfect. For a while I thought he had Asberger's, but that seems not to be the case. He's pretty unhappy, does badly in school despite being smart in some areas (but not brilliant), and mostly suffers from having a cold, unaffectionate, controlling mother who won't let him be himself or have any fun.

I took the LSAT to go to law school (didn't study for it at all nor even read the explanatory brochure, applied only to schools I could drive to... I didn't want to admit I was going back to school). I did my years at Berkeley, my externship for a District Court judge, my clerkship for a Ninth Circui judge, ... but my last year I got very screwed up, was not offered a job anywhere, and oh by the way my son was born just as my clerkship ended,a and I woudn up being a full-time, stay at home father. Later, I wanted to get back into it, but there are barriers, mostly psychological, to going back to it. I'm trying, though.

med school: Never. I learned the MCAT to teach it, because ethere was more work there than LSAT (which I was doing). I can crank an MCAT now, even though I haven't had college-level biology or either of the chemistries, but there's no connection between that and wanting to go to med schol (which I don't). I do, however, read textbooks for fun, which made learning it much easier.

Obviously biased, but I'm not alone in this view, and on a good day he would agree with a lot of it.
