I remember this being discussed in the pub. Big difference there was it was more general, but most agreed whoever did the cooking the other should do the dishes. It's not clear who did the cleaning or how big the dinner party is.

I'm thinking in the range 6-8.

Yeah, think I'm around a 6, but it's really hard to get a good range here since it's so subjective. There's definitely worse chores than doing the dishes tho.

Still think cleaning up after a party alone should be enough to push it to the mid-low left side of the scale, but I dunno.

Personally this one wouldn't bother me much. I like listening to Podcasts when I do the dishes. Much better than most chores except it would take a long azz time. I'm sure it's supposed to be a low # though.

Filthy strikes me as the type to throw out dishes rather than washing them, but I can also see him as the type to wash & reuse disposable plates. No middle ground.

I seem to recall him saying he doesn't even own a bowl and eats everything out of a single pot, and has just one fork or spoon for cutlery or something. That may not be totally accurate, but I think it's close.

From what I remember of the pub discussion, Filthy was pretty much in agreement with the sharing of chores. Also, don't know how big of a dinner party. It could be just one other couple and count as a dinner party which wouldn't be too big a deal.

What's a 21 or 12 for that matter? My first thoughts were something like 8 too but really struggling to come up with any "good" chores

the "by wife" can go either way as you may have this evenly split as your contribution but I think this is more of 'her party' instead of an 'our party' kind of split

Yea it's not on the best chore side...just thinking in terms of chores - none of the ones you mentioned JM3 I would really consider "chores" so to me watering a plant is like 21, washing a dish I guess like 17...this isn't THAT much further down but not great....you could be cleaning bugs or toilets or something

But yeah, you do have to clue something pretty extreme for a 21 just to make sure your team will guarantee points. I don't think something like "watering a plant" would cut it. Maybe "bathing the Victoria's Secret Angels" or whatever.

Kinda irrelevant tho since it's nowhere near that. 6 might be a good compromise? It's clearly supposed to be bad, but not 1-3 level bad or anything.

I thought we were all around 8ish...I could go to 7 and I *guess* 6 is reasonable but it shouldn't really be THAT bad, your wife would do the reverse I imagine, it does seem on the bad side, 10 seems a little low, 9's getting possible - 8 I liked but ok 7 is my new favorite
