It was 15.

Sorry team, don’t blame you for guessing 14, I thought this clue you would always end with 14 or 15 and it would depend if you thought there was more 16 or 13 equity which one you chose, so obviously I was sad to see 13 mentioned haha. I had a few clues that were a lock you would go 15-16 but, again, that choice depends on which of 17 and 14 you think is more likely. Kinda regretting my choice now though, but 15 is a hard number to clue for.

Maybe small was too aggressive of a word, and I didn’t know how much you would read into will versus can etc. Just made the wrong judgement call. Let’s stop randing 15 tho!

I gave it to 2 of my real life friends after I submitted and one was 17 and one was 13 lol. So I had no idea how this was gonna play out. Obv they aren’t as good as POGgers at games though

Yeah Ervin is up. At least I was put out of my misery quickly, was pretty clear to me that you guys were going 14 unless something special happened like someone thinking 16-17 very early on lol.

Imo 3 should be kinda average unless you are on lolRB. There are always some categories or times where you’re on a completely different wavelength and get a zero though obviously. But I view 2 as a fail, 3 average and 4 really good (denying them the chance of a 1).

I'm kinda meh about being able to use the word "profit" when talking about whether an investment is good - like the words small & profit are in there to describe something that's a slightly better than an average investment.

But it's whatever & not against the rules or anything.

I didn’t think of “profit” being angly when giving the clue but I can see it. Would money be angly? gain? I really thought small was ok though since it was modifying house, I thought about that one and it seemed in the spirit of the game. I wasn’t trying to say anything about the number or amount of profit, I was saying the house was small.

It’s how we play this game: use words/concepts to describe where on a spectrum the number falls

If can’t use that then we are down to just clues like:
Lemonade stand
Stamp collecting
House flipping


Which is fine, but not as fun. And we’ve so far seemed to be ok with doing it this way, tho we could do a stricter version in the future.

I mean, I'm guessing the original intent of the game is far different from the way it's actually played on the forum. I definitely don't think you did anything wrong. More of a theoretical issue with what can be done with certain categories I guess.

& I know you weren't trying to angle with the small house thing. If you took out all the other words & just wrote "small profit" I think they're still saying 14, though

Yeah I assume flipping houses for small profit is definitely bad lol. I guess I was going with what gad said earlier and thinking small houses is ok and didn’t consider the profit angle in conjunction, in my mind I didn’t modify profit so it was ok. Sorry.

Actually, maybe a stricter version would be more fun...would be more debates, etc

Right now we are getting to a point where most turns are 3 points without a ton of debates. so maybe we are optimizing too much for high accuracy.


“Flipping houses” would have generated more passionate debate but been higher variance

Yeah, it wasn't a dig at FMK as much as questioning what the game should really be about.

I think some categories are more prone to gaming the system than others. Like you can use the word "profit" or "loss" on this 1 & 100% know which side of the spectrum it belongs on because by definition a good investment is one on which you profit.

Actually, maybe that's what my issue is & maybe there's a place for a reasonable line to be drawn there in the future...would need to think of a lot of other examples to see if that makes sense, though.

I think "Lemonade stand in a high-traffic area" should be fine.

But "a profitable lemonade stand" should not be maybe?
