Although it is possible that JMurder decided that it would be angly to put a free item as the clue, bc “cheap” implies a cost. In that case, we have a 1.

I do not think it would be angly to do that, so I am at 2.

Stick of gum is preeetty far down there - I could see JM giving this clue if he got handed a 2 or 3....1 is possible too but I think we mighta gotten something like air/water for that.

I think the risk of this being 3 is minimal; JMurder could have gone with smth that costs $1 (like a cheeseburger at McDonalds, idk?) but came with smth that costs even less than that.

Yeah I’d say 2 for sure. Don’t know if you have penny sweets there but they are obviously lower than a stick of gum so can’t see this ever as a 1, it’s 2/3 never above or below, and I’d rather just hit 2 for back to back 4 pointers, so I’m on 2 too
