If a song was #1 in the UK, but didn't crack the top 40 of the Billboard charts I listed, then it is good.

Yeah, no reason you can’t have his and your entries separate

Just means MOAR REVEALS!

I would have a hell of a time trying to get him to pick songs for your categories...

You choose 2 for each category and then play them for him...he gets his fave and you get the other

okay, talked myself out of my other category idea, thinking it'd be a high-research cat more than anything

i think i have a bias toward up-tempo or faster songs, so in an attempt to correct for that, send me good slow songs

"slow" is open to interpretation; if the song speeds up to finish out or something (like so (probably not for JM3's son)), that's probably fine. shine on you crazy diamond would wreck face here, but you're now not allowed to submit it

HERE is a post i wrote about my tastes last walrus, and HERE is a quick link to the start of the reveal (category: synthesizers). prog and pop generally did well there

I'm not doing anything else at the moment (woo unemployment), so let me collate the entries so far

aaronk56
bolt2112 - best crowd interaction in a live performance
CrimsonFox
D1iabol1cal
Dizzyqtp - theme songs
DonkDonkDonkDonk
eleanor60 - songs with a four-syllable word in the title
Eric - songs released after 2000 by a band that has not had a top 40 hit
Gadarene - indie songs with a catchy chorus
IBeDrummin - instrumental post-rock
inDheart - slow songs
iraisetoomuch - songs that can turn any day from bad to good
JMurder3 - songs for his 5 year old
KarmaDope - rock/metal covers of well-known songs
monstrman
Nicholasp27
PokerCrazy94
Priptonite - songs with that one line

expressed interest in other thread but hasn't committed here yet:

eyebooger

podiumed last time, so I hope they'll play:

Bloobird
soma84

So that's 18 entrants, 19 with eyebooger. Most people haven't given their categories yet (and obviously anyone who has already picked a category is free to change it).

I will say that I have two clips in mind that will both score very well, if not win it all. One of them will never be submitted. The other one might show up on someone's list.

Yeah, I'll play. A week in Costa Rica in mid-January shouldn't prevent me from participation. Speaking of which:

A modern rock song by a band/artist from Central America

For "modern rock", let's say last 25 years.

For "Central America", here is the Wikipedia page on the subject. You will be very disappointed if you send me a Mexican song.

Thanks for the update, Gad. Looks like we have room for 1 more. And we need categories submitted for those who have signed up but haven't given us their choice yet.

On a separate note, how will IRTM really know if a song turns a bad day into a good day unless he's in a foul mood when he begins each song? I propose that he needs to stub his toe before each listen. Or watch Old Yeller beforehand.

Can we say last 29 years to just cover all of the 90s?

I have no clue what artists are even out there but figured may as well include all of 90s in “modern rock”

If it will really affect things, I won't judge a song from 1991 harshly.

In honor of today's R&R HOF inductees:

Song by an artist not in R&R HOF that should be (biggest snub)
