Alrighty. Let's expand it to 25. Categories due by Tuesday, Dec 18th. Songs due Tuesday, Jan 8th. And writeups due Thursday, Jan 24th.

Should be plenty of time for all.

Make it the 22rd for writeups and I’ll definitely be good to get all the ranking lists out on time. I lose reliable internet the morning of the 23rd.

Submit by January 5, reveal by January 31 seems reasonable.

Ive done the full drive before in one day. It is not fun lol

I think the R&R HOF is a bit of a joke but I am looking for songs by bands that have been snubbed by HOF. You can base your opinion on their worthiness based on influence, popularity or whatever you want. They have to have a body of work of some gravitas not a one hit wonder. If they are currently ineligible for HOF due to their longevity that is fine. It can be a band that you think is worthy even if Pitchfork or Consequence of Sound disagrees.

I was a child of the 80's and my musical tastes lean to that decade. Two of my favorite bands are the The Cure and Radiohead that both got in this week. Other bands that are in already that I listen to frequently include:

The Ramones, REM, Beastie Boys, Nirvana and Bowie.

I would say most of my favorite music has been neglected in terms of acceptance, etc. I like what was or is currently classified as College Rock, Alternative, Post Punk, Indie, etc.

Things I don't really like:

Hard rock/heavy Metal, Country, Pop, Blues. I can appreciate that Iron Maiden, for example, was hugely influential and probably should be in but I'm not really interested in their music.

If you pick a big name please don't pick their biggest hit. Dig a little.

For example, I think The Smiths are probably one of the biggest snubs if that helps (I've heard everything they have done so you may not want to go that route). But if you did pick them I would not use "How Soon Is Now" as the selection.

Clear as mud?

BTW LLSNL Chat threaders are probably at an advantage here as I have espoused my musical favorites there repeatedly.

Similarly, you might not want to use "How Soon is Now" for your song with a word that has 4 syllables in the title.

Isn’t it a four-syllable word, not a four-syllable title?

catfailing would also be a good reason not to use that song

Catfailing = failed catfishing?

Personally, yes, but I will research songs I dont know and if they appear to be well known in a majority English speaking country, then I'll accept it.

Not looking for a metal cover of some random Chinese song I'm very unlikely to have heard of, for example, whereas a metal cover of Gangnam Style would, theoretically, be allowed as it was massive in the UK, where I'm from.

Please don't send me Gangnam Style, btw.
