It's Deli vs Karma!!!

Here's The Beastie Boys with 'Sabotage'.

This song, from the hip-hop trio who embodies the 90s, is a mood with a lot of impact. There is no doubt it's just a really cool song. Fun fact: it was written playfully in response to being hurried through their creative process and indecision by their sound engineer and producer.

Here's Blind Guardian with 'The Guard's Song'

Before you think I'm cheating - yes Blind Guardian have more than 3 members. Only 3 of them perform on this song though!

Pretty tired of Sabotage.

Would have voted against it, but wasn't feeling Blind Guardian at all.

Reluctant vote for Beastie Boys.

I'm similar to Eyebooger I think, but, with more enthusiasm.

Blind guardian just felt a little bit strange to my ears

Easy vote for Sabotage here.

2nd one is not my cup of team and Sabotage is awesome.

I think if Eric and I ever take a long road trip together, we'll need to stick to podcasts and audiobooks. We'd probably come to blows over the music choices.

I would have picked a ZZ Top tune in honor of Dusty Hill's passing

It would have been interesting to see ZZ Top go head-to-head with Rush, for example, instead of a couple of near-nobodies. But maybe it's good that they avoided the heavy hitters.

wasn't the biggest fan of either and I'm not rushing back to listen again

1st one I could see being on a workout playlist or perhaps a movie scene

2nd one just sounds like the dwarves and elves building a giant ship together that the audience knows will sink later

I almost went with The Supremes.

The Supremes would have won, no matter which song. They are the best Motown group for sure, and challenge for best Motown artist in general!

Wait, am I misreading this post or are you calling the Beastie Boys near-nobodies?

I get that you don't like rap/hip hop music, but you do realize that the Beastie Boys are one of the biggest groups of the 80s, 90s and 00s and are in the Rock and Roll HOF, don't you?

I like The Bard’s Song because it is so different, it may not be something I would listen to often, but it definitely makes it on the playlist for when I’m prepping/planning meals for our LOTR day. It’s definitely mood music and I think both songs sort of have that quality.

Rap doesn't count.

I am of the opinion they shouldn't be in RRHoF. But I feel that about a lot of inductees.

My near-nobodies comment was mostly in jest. I've only heard one of their songs worth listening to. I understand they are considered near the top of their genre, but that doesn't make them listenable.
