I'll reveal tomorrow morning.
If it's better to plan early and be late I'll plan to start at 9.

If it's better to plan late and start early, I'll plan to start at 10.

I.e. hoping to start right at 9:30...

Full disclosure, if at any point it seems like I'm just clicking buttons... That might be correct.
I had to actively not watch some of these music videos because they were just to weird / terrible that I think they were affecting my judgement.
Btw: This is my first time, so if I'm forgetting something let me know.
Seems like most people wait a few minutes between so people can listen along?

But without any further rambling:

Number 10:

Spoiler:
Zaccino submitted:

KAYTRANADA - LITE SPOTS

Spoiler:
No clue what I was expecting when I requested this category, but this wasn't it
Overall just couldn't get into it.

Alle Farben - Be The One

Spoiler:
There wasn't anything 'wrong' with this song, but there also wasn't anything that I could find to really like about it.

Another song that didn't do it for me overall. The beat was decent, but I think the vocals really turned it off for me.

Spoiler:

I was pretty hyped when this song started, really thought it was going to turn into something.
By the end, I felt pretty unsatisfied though. Hard to put my finger on why.
Points for starting out well though.

Spoiler:
This song doesn't excel the in 'songs that I would ever listen to' category.
But having said that, it's got a great beat and managed to wake me up and get me excited after a long night of drinking, so solid points there.
I also can't imagine this playing in a club, but it seems like a solid beat for someone to sample.

In addition to the song feeling pretty upbeat, if you listen to the lyrics they are really positive too.

Breakbot - My Toy

Spoiler:

I kinda like this song overall, even though I doubt I'd hear it in a club. Seems a bit too There were a number of parts that reminded me of this daft punk song which I really enjoy so I think it gets some points by association there.

Spoiler:

Overall it gets credit for being pretty decent in it's own right, but is capped by the fact that it is heavily overplayed a bit 'poppy' and not really a 'club' hit imo. Although, there are some decent remixes out there of this that could have excelled in this category.

I really enjoyed this song. The lyrics are so bad they are good again. Almost as it someone was trying to make a song just see how bad they could make the lyrics and still get away with it.

WTS f. Gia - "One Night

Spoiler:
I sort of enjoy the repetitive nature of this song, but more importantly this was the first song that I thought 'yeah, I could def hear this in club'.
If I was in a car listening i'd snap change the song, but that's a different matter.

in 1st place!

Spoiler:
As this competition was progressing, I thought "maybe I just don't like high female vocals" for this category.
But I think this song proved my thought wrong. Really enjoyed it overall.
It also excels in the 'I can imagine hearing this in a club' part of judgement.

Thanks everyone for the songs.
Even the ones that I didn't like so much, it was really good to get out of my zone and hear something unexpected.
I appreciate the effort.

good work irtm - glad Crocodile Boots amused you - this Soulwax remix is a bit more 'clubby' maybe (depending on the kind of club you go to I suppose ) but was only officially released in January - https://soundcloud.com/mixmag-1/prem...-soulwax-remix

---

so now we are left with Jumpluff and Nick Royale

Let me get my apologies in up front. I don't go on MU enough to understand the interactions between the people who, from my 2+2 pov, are 'from there'. So, if I'm stepping on toes, I'm sorry.

@Walrein:

I ask you because you ran a Walrus with Jumpluff and .. tbh I didn't really follow it to the end but .. ok .. let's say that it appeared to me that you were more timely with your reveals than they were. Again - apologies if that's a mischaracterization. And also, obviously, you two (I presume) aren't seemlessly joined at the hip.

Do you have a view as to whether Jumpluff is likely to read this thread/have read my PM to them/reveal/.. ? - they don't seem to have posted re this Walrus since well before the end of signups, so I'm a little concerned.

fwiw, I'm not concerned about Nick - I'm instituting a fine of 4 points per day after his missed reveal date. So he's -16 at the moment. Not too late to save #1, but he'll be doomed if he delays until after the weekend.

Spoiler:
And if that doesn't get him to do a reveal pdq then I'll be amazed.

I say we let nick reveal jump's if he doesn't show. (not JUST because that will be another category nick gets no points for...)
