Have to keep that to myself and fair enough you didn't really do it this game. I just never felt you were a villager and I hope you don't mind too much that I baited you as much as possible to try to get you to reveal yourself to me. Fair dos your meta makes that hard.

I can relate to you in terms of being relatively unmislynchable yet having a tough time getting a good wagon going for the village. But what did you mean by "doing wolfy things are gold?" You almost had too much of a good thing going there.

This was as complex and interesting as any mish mash given the high quality of play--loved seeing high post counts D1 just as an observer, even though it usually spells doom for the wolves.

I'm not trying to solve games d1 very much. I just try to make accusations and talk to everyone. Then I use this later. I mean, I don't try to NOT solve the game. I don't like clearing people too light or locking people as wolves early. Just screw around and talk to everyone. Then try to lynch the least reasonable person (usually a villager but lol).

yah, fair dos you did the hard work to win it. It doesn't matter how the village plays, you still have to outwolf them.

I thought Monkey played best or most ideal. Meticulous cold blooded work in this game.

I'm pretty sure I've top-posted every game I've wolfed. I kind of have to because I post a lot as a villager. I was helped each time by a wolf team that was willing to put posts on the board. It's death for wolves to hide.

What would you think of playing in a game that was vanilla in every respect except that at the end of the day, the person with the highest and lowest post count each have their vote reduced to a half-vote while the median post count player receives 2 votes? Would that have a positive or negative impact on the game and would balance be maintained?

it was pretty much my first wolf game.

it was my second and my first was a mash and i was the wolf seer and just antispewed from d1 forward until like d4 when people were shocked i was even alive.

i randed with annie and xkf, annie decided to just howl, xkf was ALSO on his first wolf game.

on the other side of the game there's you, vyk, aksdal, vix, chuckles, sangaman and others.

i'm alone at f9 and still pull it off. yeah i mean, i know from your perspective having caught me on d1 or whatever and never really thinking i was actually a villager that sucks. but from my perspective it was just amazing to be able to win that.

also fwiw I never ever win games as a wolf anymore after skating, so there's that.

Thanks man. We could have a mutual jerk-off club because you know I rate you (will draft again next year ). We both flail around and get there in the end. You're way underrated because you are willing to troall it up but I find your flexibility and willingness to engage (and enrage) others really effective in the bigger picture. Hardcore's methods also seem to be effective if this game is anything to go by, although you wouldn't want to be a seer in his village.

I think it would be viable in a mishmash maybe, but post restriction works to keep games manageable and some players naturally don't post much in either role and shouldn't be penalised for it.

I've just seen UAW win a game as a wolf where he posted less in the whole game than I do on a slow morning. I think he shouldn't be punished for that. It's the village that's at fault for letting him get away with it.

well fwiw that was the first time I actively seerhunted as a vanilla villager but it was just because annie wanted to lynch rebonkulous.

also you said I couldn't be the seer and telegraphed that vix was POEing rebonk as seer and peeking chill, so maybe you don't want to be a seer in your village either :P

anyway all in game and I should have probably just shut up d3 but anyway

Well, you just blatantly lynched villagers, which is my idea of good wolfing, and basically everyone was happy to let you do it. That was a good village and a really good win. I wouldn't ever diminish your value from that. Ultimately, I made the mistake of mishandling Andy and you didn't. Chips put me straight on where I went wrong in that game: my style wins with a lot of players, probably most, but some people really do care more about the emotional hurt of losing to a "good wolf".

Weirdly, now you've started fulfilling the potential I did tell you you had (remember when we talked during the draft I told you you were very draftable and not to underestimate how good you would be at this game?), people probably fear losing to you just as much and you will one day get the same from someone.

All true. Still learning this game and I often do things that I think after the game, learn from that and don't **** it up the same next time.

Its due to wolves wanting to mislynch people and defend others in an attempt to appear villagery. If one villager is making outrageous accusations at another the natural wolf reaction is to pick a side and pit them against one another sort of divide and conquer type thing.

So here I took a kind of silly accusation hardcore made which may or may not have been applicable and was trying to reverse engineer some kind of read on Anarchist. I falsely accused him of a significant slip in order to see reactions from him and others. On reread you'll see two wolves immediately get on their white horse to defend poor anarchist from me. Some villagers were curious as to what I was doing but the wolves were smelling blood and came at me right away. Village ended up sponging these wolf pushes. Most if them came back around once I cleared myself. I intended to look more into that as the game went along, assuming I could just fade the lynch.

And yea it helped a lot. There's no way I'd have cleared Anarchist otherwise.

Vix is easy to read if you ask yourself "what's he trying to do?"

If the answer is really "I have no idea", he's a wolf.

That slip thing is ****ing gold because I really believe wolves like to get in early on silly gotcha type things and it's a huge leak they have.

This is Monkey Theorem.

Players who jump on bad wagons are villagers almost always.
Players who begin them are usually villagers.
Players who give them the second push are wolves.
