Too man y 2s: Boron killed me ugh
Parturient is certainly not a 3 but a 5. It requires very careful planning. Took me over an hour too (but then: I am slow).
Sodales was pretty easy and I looked for an improvement, trying to connect the lost 5, but I could not find it. It might be possible though.

When you open the spreadsheet, you will probably receive a warning about potential hazardous content. My macros will not hurt you, you will need to allow them or the buttons will not work.

Sheet 1 is the list of all possible Charmer setups. Don't leave home without it.
Sheet 2 is the puzzle help sheet. Only edit the yellow cells.
  • Cells B2-B7 are for entering the quantity of numbers in the problem.
  • Cells C2-C5 are for entering the amount of zones each chain will occupy.
  • Bonus, Chains and Score are calculated from this.
  • Penalty is the amount of bonus unused. For example if there are 15×1s in the scenario, but you can only use 8 of them effectively, the penalty will be 7. This way you can manually lower the bonus.
  • Target score is the score you need to achieve.
  • Possible setups will show which chain scores and bonuses lead to this Target score.
  • Target chain is the score you need to achieve with your 3 chains (=Target Score/Bonus)
  • Click Analyze chain to see all potential setups that lead to Target Chain score. Click Cleanup to reset yellow cells.

What the spreadsheet does not do:
  • It does not consider making two chains with the same numbers. There is actually at least one puzzle where you need to do that.
  • It does not know how many zones a chain can cover. If there are 6 or more of a number, the spreadsheet will assume a full snake is possible.

All in all I think a pretty helpful tool.
I'm thinking that this is something like PT4 or HM3?

I really need to play more - but I suck big time.

Could I connect you with a person who need help with some ww balance?

New data:
daily: 1491 ( 540 played, 24624 avg ) win 0.119
timed: 1608 ( 4889 played, 24482 avg )

So my score averages in the intervening periods have been 24904 over 164 games for Daily and 25182 over 838 games for Timed.

Also, TH10's average for his last 1394 Timed games is 25503. Sick life.

Stats on p133/p134 for anyone interested.

Combined Rating:

Stay within 75 of TH.
Medium-term: Get to within 50 of TH.
Long-term: Beat TH.

Timed:

Maintain 2nd and Master status in the Timed ranking.
Short-term: Get to 1610
Medium-term: Get to 1620
Long-term: Reach 1630 and pass TH.

Daily Challenge Ranking:

Stay 2nd.
Medium-term: Reach 1485 rating.
Long-term: Beat TH and get Expert status.

Daily Challenge Wins:

Maintain the highest Daily winrate and keep it above 1 in 9 (I now think 1 in 8 is not incredibly realistic).
Long-term: Top the win-list. Preferably before Gaby does. If anyone is still playing by the time this happens.

Overall:

Maintain number 2 status.
Long-term: Become number 1.

Right now I'd say my most realistic long-term goal is definitely the Daily ranking one. It's also the one I'd most like to get. Long-term Combined and Timed ratings (beating TH) are now (much) less important to me because of the immobility of the Timed rating system and the infrequency of games. I'd really like Timed to pick up again.
So Timed has somewhat picked up again since I wrote this! Also, I made a fair few of my targets, plus getting over 3100 combined rating (for about a day). It's a bit harder to make targets now that TH has given up on Daily though. However, New Targets:

Timed:

Maintain 2nd and Master status in the Timed ranking.
Short-term: Get to 1615
Medium-term: Get to 1625 and within 20 of TH
Long-term: Pass TH (will never happen; he is just much faster).

Daily Challenge Ranking:

Stay 1st.
Medium-term: Get Master status.
Long-term: Get to 1510 to have the highest rating in recent times.

Daily Challenge Wins:

Maintain the highest Daily winrate and keep it above 1 in 9.
Medium-term: Get winrate over 1 in 8.
(Very) Long-term: Top the win-list. Preferably before Gaby or Alex does. If anyone is still playing by the time this happens.

Combined Rating and misc.:

Get back to and stay over 3100 combined rating.
Get my recent Daily Challenge average scores over 25000 (should be possible given my recent Timed average).
Win a tournament.

Overall:

Maintain number 2 status.
Long-term: Become number 1?

Paul upswinging, I am downswinging. Today was horrible. yesterday timed was even worse.

At least I made two trailblazers today in the puzzles. habitasse was pretty tough though. I thought I had a working setup and every time it went wrong in the 3rd rack.

Convallis should have its difficulty level lowered to like 2-3 or so. I made it with a really standard setup.

Recently, I've won 22 over 168 games for 13.10% while you've won 22 over 159 games for 13.84%.

We're playing a long-term game here. Who's running hot now?

Edit: Obviously both of us. Interesting that all of the top players seem to have improved their winrates recently; Dynasty is 20 over 174 for 11.49%, Derwi is 20 over 172 for 11.63% and Alex is 21 over 160 for 13.125%. Could just be variance though.

Second edit: Sh-t, Dynasty has played EVERY SINGLE DAILY CHALLENGE since the 6th June. Jokes.

You forgot me, I am 0 for 21 during that time period for 0.00 %.

edit. Oh, didn't see you said top players, never mind.
