I wasn't talking about yesterday. More about how I'm comfortably top of the ratings and have an above 11% winrate, but haven't won in 52 games and counting.
Maybe that is inherent with your strategy. You play flexibly to keep all options for a good setup open, while other players with less setups in their repertoire put all marbles on a specific setup and there is always someone in the field that succeeds.
So you are always beating the field, but not often the successful gambler
You folks think wins are tough in the "red" zone... how about for a newbie??
I not only have to outplay all you reds, but I also have to survive the super-creative and risky types like dogfloss, velourfog, and guessinator, etc who often "force" an opening. When they hit hard they can take a well played game from anyone.
Today is a case in point. Based on the racks I got I didn't think it would be played any better by anyone. Clearly I was wrong
EDIT. Also a ton of variance. Alex won 1 game in the last 10 I think. With a small break here or there it could have been 5 of 10.. might have been similar for some of you guys too..
1) In the unlikely event my score holds today, I might retire from the DC with a 100% winning record in 2016
2) Genuine quote from my son the other day: "Daddy, I wish you were more like Tee Aitch Ten, he never loses."

And you won on Jan 2nd, too. well played.......
Also, 34 people playing DC yesterday must be a recent record??

Some of the strategy posts in the early days of this thread are really helpful.
I think Gabe did one on charmer and dynasty openings and Th10 did one on advanced opening.
When you feel comfortable enough to play tourneys, it is really helpful as once they are over you can click on the games and see how other players dealt with the same racks as you did. Might be the best way to find the holes in your game..
Like....."how did he snake 2 chains when I could only snake 1...??" and then seeing what your opponent did to keep options open and/or not block off chain paths. Or, "how did he get 17 bonus points when you only got 13," and then seeing how well they set themselves up to handle 1s and 2s.
Have fun.... I am new to Triplechain and have found the regs to be great sports...
