if you DGAF about rating, but only are interested in wins, take lines that are against the field

For example, play 3s or if there are 4x2s in rack 1-4, connect two of them. Play basic strategy ith 5s or 6s as your main chain. if 2 of them come in rack 5-8 and one in rack 9, you are one of few with a full snake.

If the rest of your play is solid, choosing a strategy that few other people will follow gives you tops and bottoms.

I know what tournaments need to improve.

Spoiler:
More Crabshoots and Black Widows

I started "The big two" even though "The big one" wasn't my creation.

The only tournaments I've ever started are the "Variance is a Beach" series.

Surely 9 games? You could try Gaby's suggestion, but that's sort of like admitting defeat. The other option is to really try to improve by mastering more setups (Rounds 1-4). Use the replayer to study TH10's and my games. It is actually a much more fun game playing this way because you have a lot more options and more hard decisions.

I'm feeling the same way but for the opposite reason: the Daily Challenge doesn't really feel like much of a challenge any more. I feel like I'm only playing it because I've already invested so much into it. This year I've won 34 DCs, or 19.2%, and because TH10 refuses to play, I'm 43 points ahead of 2nd place, which equates to winning a humongous 56% of games. The gap from me to 2nd is bigger than the gap from 2nd to 10th.

I'm considering writing an epic post where I will explain in great detail my thinking in the setup Rounds. Would only post it after I overtake Dynasty in wins though.

Is there any benefit to playing the other qualifiers now that I've made the finals?

You could try to "rig" the predictions, trying to win against players who you didn't pick, and "forgetting" to play your games within the time limit if you are drawn against someone you picked for your predictions. But that is probably against the spirit of the predictions and probably better to not play those tourneys at all if you ask me.

It's basically a tourney, TH10 just totally failed in getting the title right.

I wasn't the one who created the starebert.jpg tourney.

So your reads were about as good as mine then. Don't let that prevent you from trying sometime!

I programmed the ITA module for the game, took me more time prolly than it took CDL to design the roleset

But now we have it for HP6

Triplechain Tournament #4

Qualifiers
- Four qualifiers, played in sets of two.
- Randomly seeded, best of 7 (I'm sticking with this. Some randomness is ok and the more casual players will probably enjoy the reduced time commitment).
- The winner of each qualifier advances to the final four.
- If the same person wins both tournaments in a set, the 2nd place finishers play a 7 game game 1 v 1 tourney to decide who gets the other berth.
- The players who advance out of the first set may not play in the second set.

Thanks for your answer, Gaby.

Think i care more than i should about rating. What is irritating with never winning it's the fact that everytime i try a non-conventionnal line it's a major fail. Obviously, i don't mastered a lot of setups which Paul is talking about so it's pretty much always the same 2-3 setups in rounds 1-4.

Thanks Paul. Think at one point i just stop watching replay, lazyness or something. I should do it 100% of the time after my tourneys against TH or when the results of DC are out. I should kick my lazy ass for sure.

that gif is the first time i've seen something go from never seen all the way to want to see expunged from the face of the earth in less than 12 hours. Barring a bunch of reality tv stars, now that i think about it.

Alex has been playing very similarly to me in DCs over the last week or two. Only small differences have separated us.

I started to build a spreadsheet tracking dc scores to try to see who scores like who chiefly because I got the subjective impression that I was like a crappier version of dynasty and I wanted to see if it held up. I think I got bored before I got a decent sample size.

Im a crappier version of Paul, whatever Paul gets in the DC, I get less.

When i stop playing DC, it will make me a crappier version of TH10 then.
