Yesterday my position at rack 8 as interesting - I could play safe and connect the 4 with the major chain (which adds more points than connecting the 6s) or go for the nutty score by connecting the 6s and hoping for a 4 in rack 9 (which I did and which did not happen). When making the choice I already know my score was a beating, because I had guessed rack 2 correctly, going for 5s as major inner chain.

Imo your play is clearly the better one. It loses a small amount when you miss the 4, 40%, but gains a large amount when you hit, 60% of the time.

I replayed some games and I see that 3/6 players that followed Dynasty strat and scored 25995 made a horrible misplay in rack 3 with the 6. What derwi did is correct. What Dynasty did is wrong. There came a 6 in rack 4, so there was no punishment, but if no 6 comes in rack 4, but a 4 comes, those who erred will have an inferior setup.

EDIT: Rack 7 was interesting in my game. Wonder what others would say about how to play it. It seems I made a correct guess with my setup, as 4s come in scarely and I am likely ahead of the field, so I choose to block 6s and play for optimal bonus

Bah, yesterday the multiple 1s (EDIT: in rack 9) torpedo-ed my trifecta (with today, it could have been a quadfecta

)

I could have won yesterday if I had played rack 8 differently. It was an interesting position. Took me a while to decide how to play it. I think I played it correctly, because any alternative creates a lost 6 which seems suboptimal.

goddamnit, when i looked at my game yesterday I thought I had a winner, but no, I'm assuming gabe did something with 3s.

And TH10, paul thought i was crazy when i said gabe and dynasty had solved the DC and it wasn't worth playing

Yes, because making very questionable plays, ending up with frankly a terrible setup, and getting just the perfect racks 5-9 clearly means someone has solved DCs.

I had a terrible setup, with one square that needed both a 4 and 6 and in rack 5 I took an all or nothing route with like 95% success of failure that ended up perfectly.

It compensates for the 14/02 DC which I deserved to win

I could not play yesterday, but replayed the DC without looking at results and I would have ended up 5th.

I just checked and I don't see it.

If you bink a six and i bink a 4 we both have the same bonus, first and second chains but I have 8 4s in 3 zones and you have 6 4s in 3 zones.
