Trololololol I knew this was going to happen and I would play a DC as Gaby. I sent zac a PM to see if this can be repaired. I don't have his email address

I emailed him and explained the situation and asked him to post in chatroll what the best solution was. Hopefully he checks his email today I guess.

Seems to be the month of rack 9 oopsies...

I was able to get away with a minor (176 point) rack 9 error on Jun 13th. I saw 111XX, and was happy and slammed them in and then said...wait a second....oops... and then did the math.... If I go 6 south and 1 north the score is 26384.

It was kind of a rare spot where killing an extra 1 to link an orphaned number would have been worth it. Also, in many situations like this you are looking at 18 vs 16 on bonus points, but here it was 18 vs 17. Big difference for sure.

Also strange is that if I played it correctly in rack 9 I kill a 3 zone of 1s ----- and still win....??

Many wins on a 11XXX or 111XX rack 9 come from saving a 3 zone of 1s....

Monthly Race

• June marked the 12-year anniversary of the TripleChain DC, and it also brought SubArcticK's first monthly DC race win in 11 months. SubArc led the table with 23 top-10 scores and 14 top-5 scores, along with five wins, which tied for second-most. After a close battle with SmalltownBoy for much of the month, SubArc won the June 19 DC and followed that up with 7 top-7 scores in the next 8 days, solidifying his hold on first place. It was SubArc's 13th monthly DC race win, which puts him fourth on the all-time list. SubArc also has the longest active streak in the top 10, with five consecutive months.
  
• SmalltownBoy finished in second place in June, holding off a late-month charge from Derwi. StB led the field with 7 wins and was second only to SubArc with 21 top-10 finishes, though 12 of those were outside of the top 5.
  
• The three Ds -- Derwi, Dynasty, and dogfloss -- rounded out the top five. Derwi posted three wins and four other top-7 scores in the final 8 days of the month to capture third place, Dynasty rallied up the table thanks to a historic series of wins late in the month (see Stat of the Month below), and dogfloss was the only member of the top 10 who didn't garner a DC win during the month.
  
• Among the rest of the top 10, arjun13 finished in 6th place as 10 of his 12 top-10 scores were in the top 5; Nimbusfan (9th) had just 9 top-10 scores, but four of them were wins; and Donk4 (10th) had just 10 top-10 scores, but 8 of them were in the top 5. mikeb, shamsnemesis, and consul were just outside the top 10.

Milestones

• With his monthly DC race win, SubArcticK became the fourth player to surpass 1,000 yearly DC race points.
• On June 9, SubArcticK won his 250th DC, the eighth player to reach this milestone.

Stat of the Month

• 4: Dynasty became the fourth player to win four consecutive DCs, posting wins from June 21-24. Like each of the three previous players who achieved this feat, Dynasty had two solo wins and two shared wins. It's interesting to note that this feat was accomplished just once in the first 10 years of the DC (by Gaby in 2014), but it has happened three times in the last two years (nails in November 2020, Nimbusfan in May/June 2021, and Dynasty in June 2022).

2022 Yearly Race

At the midpoint of the year, the yearly race is shaping up to be one of the tightest battles in the history of the DC. The top four players on the leaderboard (Dynasty, SubArcticK, SmalltownBoy, and arjun13) are separated by just 8 points.

Why do I see your game vs bandwagon still open?

Because the default and only setting for an FFA is 30 days, and that is too long for a 50 game match. So, the actual deadline is always set around 20 days. The deadline for matches in round 2 was July 29 at 11ET. It was posted here, in the tourney news tab, and in chatroll.

It is the same way we have done it for 5 years, and it will be until Zac can give us different options for FFA duration.

So, deadline for the next matches is Aug 19 11ET, regardless of how many days it says you have left when you are in the tourney itself. And, I won't be posting reminders on the deadline.

It has never been a problem. People just make note of the deadline and make sure they meet it I guess. In this case it looks like Bandwagon didn't.

PS. I might have missed it myself if I had not put a reminder on my phone to finish my games today if I had any left.

• SmalltownBoy won his first monthly DC race (under his current name) in July, holding off a raft of challengers. StB tied for the most top-10 scores in July with 18, including 12 top-five scores and 17 top-seven scores. StB’s monthly win puts him in the lead in the yearly race standings.
  
• The rest of the top five -- Nimbusfan, arjun13, SubArcticK, and Dynasty -- were separated by just seven points. Nimbus and arjun tied for second place, but Nimbus won the tiebreaker by having one additional DC win during the month. Nimbus tied SmalltownBoy with 18 top-10 scores, while the other three all had 17 top-10 finishes. Nimbus had a win and three other top-five scores in the final week to capture second place; arjun had 11 top-four scores, six of which were second-place scores; SubArc had nine top-three scores; and Dynasty led the table with four DC wins.
  
• Among the rest of the top 10, Dos (sixth place) finished in the top 10 for the first time since October 2021; Hg80 (eighth) tied Dynasty for the most DC wins during the month; and velourfog (ninth) and nails (10th) each had at least one score in every top-10 place. dogfloss, Guessinator, and mrgibson were just outside the top 10 (though “just” may overstate how close they were -- see the Stat of the Month below).

Milestones

• On July 15, velourfog won his 300th DC, becoming the fifth player to do so.
• On July 7, mrgibson won his 150th DC, the 20th player to reach this milestone.
• On July 28, SmalltownBoy won his 50th DC, the 36th player to do so (or the ninth player to reach 250 wins).
• Donk4 surpassed 15,000 DC points in July, joining 13 other players who have reached that milestone.
• Kampi77 surpassed 5,000 DC points during the month, the 33rd player to do so.
• On July 9, SubArcticK played in his 2,500th DC, joining 15 other players who have played at least that many DCs.

Stat of the Month

• 21: The points gap between 10th place (nails) and 11th place (dogfloss) in July. This was the largest margin between making and missing the top 10 since October 2020.

Was here in rack 6 in the Aug 28 DC and had an autoplay rack. 5 center, 3 east, 6 south, 1 west and 4 north (in one of two spots.. a debate for another day).

Didn't notice the 6 slip until after I put the 3 south, and then no 6 in rack 7 or 8, and I am a dummy...

• dogfloss won her second monthly DC race of the year in August. dog was second in wins (4) during the month and tied for the most top-10 scores (16), which was enough to eke out a two-point victory. It was dogfloss’ 11th monthly DC win, which is fifth-most in the history of the DC.
  
• wafflesobv got a win on August 30 that vaulted him into a second-place finish for the month. waffles tied for the most top-5 scores (11), which included three wins and three second-place scores.
  
• The rest of the top five were separated by just eight points. Third-place SmalltownBoy tied for the most top-10 and top-5 scores; SubArcticK finished fourth for the second consecutive month; and Dynasty had the fewest top-10 scores of any player in the top 10 (12), but led the table in wins (5) for the second straight month.
