Doesn't seem like a hugely profitable investment, which is weird, because there must be thousands of people that would like playing this game, but just haven't found it yet.
Not for the foreseeable future. It's obviously not making any money, but the hosting fees aren't a big deal.

And yeah, I think at this point it's clear the game has a certain appeal since some of us are on year three, but I've never figured out how to spread the word.

Most of you probably weren't around when this unsolicited review came out, but for a few days afterwards there were 5000+ games per day (average now is about 200). Unfortunately the game wasn't even close to being ready(no timed, advanced, puzzles, ratings, chat, etc. I don't even think the DC was active). I'd like to think if something similar happened now that a few more users would stick.

But it's ok either way. Labor of love and all that.

We should put some math and programming geeks on an assignment to create a module that solves puzzles. I think that will be a fair challenge, since the amount of possibilities in this game is pretty huge.

If that is done, the nex step is a module that calculates the best way to place your numbers. I'm sure there is an optimum way to play any first rack - just try all setups and calculate the maximum scores with all possible rack 2-9s

I've been I think 10 points higher than I am now, but it would be nice to get the colour change at least.

Didn't complain about Dynasty's win on the 31st either where I had a similar win chance but lost. I only tend to whine when I'm on a huge downswing/you're on a huge upswing/I suffer a ridic. swing like that DC ages ago where I solo win 80% and you, Dynasty and Alex win 20%. That one still hurts a bit :-p

I'm not sure whether I played like a fish or a genius today. I think the former.

It is 50-50, either you get 18x6 or not.

Spoiler:
Actual odds, assuming I didn't misclick.
Exactly 18/45: 0.012 %
At least 18/45: 0.017 %

I believe you had 26.11 % in the game you mention, hardly a reason to complain missing that.

Whereas Gaby had 45.01 % yesterday, clearly better than 26.11 %. Other odds from yesterday: TH10 43.54 %, Paul101 28.50 %, dogfloss 27.66 %, Treep 10.04 %, Zac 9.90 %, anton-09 6.89 %. Can't guarantee odds are exactly correct, but should be close, unless I missed something big.

How are my odds so low in either game? Also, it's more that fact that Dynasty made a ridiculous play in Round 1 which somehow binks for him.

Also, these smaller percentages add up. For example, I had 27% on the 4th Feb.

Are those round 9 percentages? IIRC you needed a 4 and not a 2 yesterday.

No, yesterday I needed a 4 with zero or one 2s, OR 221 (I think). On the 4th I needed a 4 with no 1, which is 2101/7776 = 27.02%

In the 31-1-2013 game you needed a last rack with 5 and 4, without 11, nor 22. And you would actually also lose with 5433x, where x is other than 2, which I hadn't previously considered, so odds are 24.69 %.

Racks you win with:
5 4 1 2 3
5 4 1 2 4
5 4 1 2 5
5 4 1 2 6
5 4 1 3 3
5 4 1 3 4
5 4 1 3 5
5 4 1 3 6
5 4 1 4 4
5 4 1 4 5
5 4 1 4 6
5 4 1 5 5
5 4 1 5 6
5 4 1 6 6
5 4 2 3 3
5 4 2 3 4
5 4 2 3 5
5 4 2 3 6
5 4 2 4 4
5 4 2 4 5
5 4 2 4 6
5 4 2 5 5
5 4 2 5 6
5 4 2 6 6
5 4 3 3 4
5 4 3 4 4
5 4 3 4 5
5 4 3 4 6
5 4 3 5 5
5 4 3 5 6
5 4 3 6 6
5 4 4 4 4
5 4 4 4 5
5 4 4 4 6
5 4 4 5 5
5 4 4 5 6
5 4 4 6 6
5 4 5 5 5
5 4 5 5 6
5 4 5 6 6
5 4 6 6 6

Yesterday is a lot more complicated. You win, as you mentioned, with 221 racks. Otherwise you would need that 4, but not all racks with a 4 are good enough. There can't be 11, nor 22. However, if there is a 6, there has to also be a bonus die, otherwise Treep will win. And without any bonus dice, nor 6s, you will still lose, if there is a 3, and no 5. Same applies to situations with one 1 and/or one 2 without 6s, you will lose if there is a 3 and no 5. And if the bonus die is a 1, you would lose even if there is a 5 with the 3. With bonus dice and at least one 6, you would always need the 5, since Gaby already has a 3rd chain of 12 going into last rack. So all of this leaves you with 21.30 %, not 28.50 % like I mentioned before, I had been careless when removing the racks in the calculator, oops. (Side note: My odds were too high as well, since I had missed that 135 situation earlier, so should've been 31.84 %)

Racks:
4 1 2 4 4
4 1 2 4 5
4 1 2 5 5
4 1 4 4 4
4 1 4 4 5
4 1 4 5 5
4 1 4 5 6
4 1 5 5 5
4 1 5 5 6
4 1 5 6 6
4 2 3 4 5
4 2 3 5 5
4 2 3 5 6
4 2 4 4 4
4 2 4 4 5
4 2 4 5 5
4 2 4 5 6
4 2 5 5 5
4 3 3 3 5
4 3 3 4 5
4 3 3 5 5
4 3 4 4 5
4 3 4 5 5
4 3 5 5 5
4 4 4 4 4
4 4 4 4 5
4 4 4 5 5
4 4 5 5 5
4 5 5 5 5
2 2 1 1 1
2 2 1 1 2
2 2 1 1 3
2 2 1 1 4
2 2 1 1 5
2 2 1 1 6
2 2 1 2 2
2 2 1 2 3
2 2 1 2 4
2 2 1 2 5
2 2 1 2 6
2 2 1 3 3
2 2 1 3 4

2 2 1 6 6

Yes, but even 0.25 + 0.27 + 0.21 < 1.

This should be 2 or 4, it is correctly in the rack list though.

I still missed something, racks with 4615 aren't good, so need to remove the following racks too:
4 1 4 5 6
4 1 5 5 6
4 1 5 6 6

Such a complicated situation, I should've triple-checked it before posting, apologies. Hopefully it is correct now...

Are we talking about the game where the first rack was 4,4,2,2,1?

I was completely shocked the nobody other than bozzer and I played the 4s on the outside. That play is completely standard for me.

From my perspective, the 'binking' came on round 2 which was a beautiful 6,6,5,5,3 for those who left the outside squares open.

I agree with Paul, only I would not call the play ridiculous.

But I would certainly prefer to place one 4 in the center and one on the outside, keeping the center zone free of 1s and allowing 4s to be the minor inside chain in Dynasty setup or one of the major chains in TH10 setup or as the major inner chain in e.g. snake charmer setup 3, which is a very good setup too.

Placing a 1 or 2 in the centre should be avoided at all costs, except in rare circumstances. Think about how many good setups there are which don't use all four centre zones; you're limiting yourself hugely with this play.
