I threw away a tied win in yesterday's DC in rack 8

Same kinda error Paul made recently (1 must go to top zone, 2 to bottom zone and 3 in right zone)

Losing count of how often I've been shafted recently by small percentages.

If it were possible to tilt self ban from triplechain for a year i'd be doing that now.

Kinda surprised nobody tied with me yesterday - it was a rather straightforward game, but for some reason most people separated the 2s.

If a 2 comes in rack 9, a bunch of people tie, but if also a 5 or 3 comes with the 2, Alex solowins.

i had one of those "what am i doing? no don't do that don't put that tile there noo nooooo" moments when reviewing yesterday's DC. Not sure why i did any of the things i did, I doubt i ever make any of those mistakes if I was playing a timed game, in fact I'm positive of it. 2 more DCs to try and break my duck for January.

This game has a knack for making me feel depressed about myself, yet I can't give it up.

I think you made a mistake in rack 2. You can put those 6s where you did, but I think the 5 needs to go to the center-left, not the center-bottom. With the 5 in center left, you can place a 6 in center-bottom and a 3 in center-right for a good setup.

Another option would have been to place the first six in left-zone-right-square and the second 6 in center-zone-bottom-square. This allows for a full "TH10-setup" with 4x3 and 4x6.

If no 6s come rack 3-4, a setup with 4x3s, the 2x6 and 2x5 in the upper-zone-bottom-square and center-zone-left-square are also totally fine.

I think I played rack one like I was gonna do a th10 set up and then forgot about that and played rack 2 like I had set up for a dynasty set up only realised what i'd done in rack 3.

There really is no end to my stupidity.

Because the setup of 1s and 2s made it awkward. You were forced to block 3s in Round 5, which is not ideal, but the 3s came too late for you to lose out from it. You lose out a decent percentage though. I wanted to put both a 6 and a 2 in the left zone in Round 7, and made the obviously +EV play. Obviously my 16% loss chance comes in.

Did velourfog just hit the biggest chain ever?

He got a 2,700 point six-chain and scored 55,748 with only a bonus of 14.

Ldo threw a dc win yesterday by not being able to connect a six. A six in the last rack and I joint win. ( I haven't actually checked but iirc connecting the six would have been the effectual nuts)

i'm binking a lot of second place scores atm; my rating is going up, wins not so much.

I did a big mathematical calculation yesterday about my Round 8 decision, and seemingly made a mistake.

18×6s in normal mode
that is f**king insane

Someone calculate the probability for that

If that last 1 is a 2 he breaks the normal record

Was convinced i had a winner yesterday, was kinda surprised someone had done better. Mine and TH10's game very similar, so at least i'm in good company.

I think if I can just stay away from my habitual bottom 5 finishes, I can push my rating up to 1350 in a month or so.

At that point, 4s were worth more than 5s so not snaking 4s makes zero sense. The way you played it though, the 4 should go in the top zone, not the right zone where it's dead.

I just put up the #7 all-time score with a 56,236.

It was a great final rack except I got my first 3 of the game (6,6,6,1,3).

Change that 3 to a X and I get:

4: 57,460, #4 all-time
5: 58,361, #2 all-time
6: 58,786, #1 all-time

Obviously, a 1 or 2 would be bad.

New Feature!

The site should now work with touch screen devices.

I've tried it with an iphone and a google nexus and both seem to work fine. If any of you can try it with other devices and let me know how they work I'd appreciate it.

I haven't forgotten about the rest of the ideas/suggestions, but this looked like a pretty easy one to drop in so I figured I'd give it a shot while I was taking a sick day from poker.

Zac is there an reason to believe that there will come a time that you shut the site down?

Doesn't seem like a hugely profitable investment, which is weird, because there must be thousands of people that would like playing this game, but just haven't found it yet.

just imagine when it's app'd and hundreds of thousands of people are playing the DC on their iphones.

I tried spamming the site to some of my old trading buddies (smart, maths oriented, sit around all day on computers, seemed perfect) but it didn't seem to get much traction, maybe i'll have another go.
