It seems that cue thinks that somehow, if he is right, that justifies being an *******.

Its like two different conversations. Cue is arguing that he is right, while Sun is saying that Cue is a douche. Those do not seem mutually exclusive to me.

the analogy is similar to a conversation that might take place at the end of the night, when people are trying to go home:

Person 1: Do you drive?
Person 2: I don't have a car.

According to the literal meaning of the question, Person 2 is not, in any way, answering the question of Person 1. Person 2, is, however, assuming that Person 1 is asking for a ride (and not just if Person 2 has the capability to drive a car). Also, in both analogies, there's the implication that the answer to person 1 (or pockets) question is yes.
