You can check out the details of the Tug O'War game in the mod spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=761391244

The columns E and I are the team modifiers. This can range from 100 (VVVVVVVVVV) to -50 (WWWWWWWWWW).

J = Modifier total = [50 + Modifier1 - Modifier2] and represents the win probability of the home team.

We see for example in match 26 that Eric was only 15% to win, but he got a rand of 0.123 and won against the odds. With such luck, Eric ships the win and welcomes 50 defectors from team bsball.

Even better than eric ran Luke, losing only 3 of 14 matches. He ties with filthy and they share the defectors from Zurvan and eyebooger.

Some post game notes

Generally, Game Masters sent in way too many players. If the objective of the game is to have as many players as possible at the end of 6 rounds and in the first round named "Coinflip", you go all in, means you didn't get it.

Some however, persisted in sending in too few players. There is practically no scenario where it is good to send in fewer than 50 players. You will always end up bottom 6 and you will always see defectors go to some opponent.

So the correct strategy is to either go for top 6 (losing the minimum) or to go for bottom-6, losing as close to 50 players as possible.

Sending in too many players is a bigger mistake than sending in too few, so the lowballers ended up doing very well

The Brawl game was the one I disliked most and was the 6th I made up. I couldn't come up with anything better, but it fit the theme quite well. It would have been better to have another game punishing lowballers (like Roll the dice!)

I was a bit disappointed with the amount of treachery in this game. Everybody was way too nice. No backstabbing in RPS and only one attempt in EEN, TWEE, DRIE, FLOP! that gloriously failed.

Thanks Gabe.

Enjoyed it but kept thinking each game (after the first couple) would be the one where you needed to submit a big number to have any chance, and eventually it caught up with me.

Did well in game 6 at least!

Congrats Zurvan

I was waiting for the twist that the players not submitted would play that round.

Thanks for a fun game, Gabe. Congratulations, Zurvan. Well done, bsball.

My strategy was to lose about 50 players per round, while trying to maximize survivors. Never quite got that right, having to guess what the survival rate of each game would be. Zurvan was on another level.

Thanks Gabe. This game was fun - but I think all the strategy was in how many players you send in. There were so many circumstances - particularly the 4 door game - where there was the opportunity to screw someone, but it didn't matter if you sent a smart number of players for the game.

In that one, filthy & bsball could have colluded against me, but my worst case scenario was losing 50 and that didn't matter. And they were (I think) being cautious and defensive heading in to that game, which is how we ended up with a small commitment rather than a large one.

I think I got really lucky this game - the dice game was one where having a few extra players could pay you back, and then it just happened that I got a big influx of defectors. After that, it was purely managing risk

Yeah, you won the game with the Dice, where you luckboxed a large number of defectors and when bsball and filthy allowed you into their room with just 52 players. That leaves no room for colluding.

I wonder if the game could have been more interesting if the games were known, but that makes it more a math fest, I guess.

I wasn't trying to win though, I was having more fun randomizing my sends:

Round 1
Spoiler:

Round 3
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
Rock = 1,2; Paper = 3,4; Scissors = 5,6

Round 4
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
This got converted into a binary value of evens = 0, odds = 1. This caused 102 players to get sent. Was nice as I started the round with 256, so any roll would have worked.

I didn't do anything for 5 or 6
