I’ll provide the positions. 2 pts for each correct answer, and a 1 point bonus for naming the college the player attended.
no. i don't follow your logic. it's says a 1 pt bonus. it doesn't say 1 pt for each college. you would get credit if you said coffeyville, but you can't get "more credit" for multiple right answers.

i didn't even put auburn. it's just so obvious to me that it's a correct answer - and our schwab apparently agrees, so it counts imo.

on every sports broadcast or trivia show on every network known to mankind when they say what college a player is from its the one he graduated from/played for last and it was obvious thats what the question meant, by your post i can tell you dont really know much about college football though so you may be unaware of this

show me one player page for him that lists anything other than Southern Illinois after college.

he was drafted out of southern illinois. the question asked for his ncaa college. if you said auburn on stump the schwab they would count it (if they worded it the way chyme did)

Guys, guys! Save it for the Thunderdome! (tentatively scheduled for 1PM EST today).

the question asked to name the college he attended. so Auburn gets a point. (as would coffeyville if that was your answer).... If the question had asked to name where he was drafted from or graduated from, Auburn wouldn't get the point.

let's table the discussion in favor of bonus questions:

If I asked you to name the ACTIVE alltime leader in NBA assists, you'd probably say Jason Kidd. If I asked you to name the number two guy on that list most of you would proabably get Steve Nash. Let's go down one more notch.

Who is third among active NBA players for career assists?

Sam Cassell? (Not sure if active)

Kidd and Nash have to be number 1 and 2, so I'm pretty sure it's Andre Miller.

EMD got it. Miller is a couple hundred assists ahead of Iverson.

Marbury and Cassell both have more assists than Miller (Marbury more). Cassell seems to be under contract with the Celtics and is listed as part of the current roster on every source I can find, but does not seem to have played at all this year. Marbury is also not listed as active on basketball-reference.com.

So I guess if you mean "active" as in not retired yet the answer would be Marbury. But if active means someone who has played this year the answer is Miller.

I know there can be some gray area when it comes to active players.

My starting off point (and most often final authority) will be the [sport]-reference.com sites. But I'm always willing to listen to arguments to the contrary.

But be warned: argue too much and your insolence will be paid back with a forced trip to Thunderdome.

According to the NBA Players Association Collective Bargaining Agreement, "Each Team agrees to have twelve (12) players on its Active List and to have a minimum of eight (8) players on the bench for all Regular Season games." Moreover, "Each Team agrees to have one (1) player on its Inactive List for all Regular Season games." The Celtics have Cassell on their inactive list and the Knicks have Marbury on their inactive list (the latter has been a huge story this year in the NBA).

Does this mean each team agrees to designate a player as inactive for the whole year (doesn't seem to make much sense) or that each team must have one player on the inactive list at all times?

In other words, can the Celtics decide to play Cassell next game and shift someone else to the inactive list?

I am aware of Marbury being persona non grata in New York.

No idea. All I know is I got the bonus point and that's the only thing keeping me going in this cruel, harsh world.

SuperUberBob is the only one who hasn't submitted answers to yesterday's question. (I sent him PM.) If I dont get answers soon, I'll take the lowest score from all the other submissions, cut it in half, and that'll be his point total.

Team C, get your boy to submit!

One more while I tabulate the latest entries for hoops mvp:

Who was the last Philadelphia Eagle defensive back to lead the league (or be tied for the league lead) in interceptions for a season?
