B4 doesn't get us anywhere. B5 is better. I think we can follow it up with an N7.

B4 gets the right area and then we would have to narrow it down, but I don’t see good letters for that

B5 narrows first then we have to get the right area, which I agree there are more letters for that path

So I’m good with b5 unless someone comes up with a better line, which is maybe possible

If bolt is saying the b5 I'm thinking of and following it up w something like q5 or r5 or k4 or whatever and n7 is similar that seems fine

After beach, what could this N7 be?

So we have a narrow clue that needs an area. Geographic area? Not even sure if that’s legal conversation for them to have, so it’s probably not geographic.

Were just the first three that came to me, but no idea what they do with a beach. But they could help narrow an area. B4 = brit? Probably not, because why not B7 as well for British? Brit isn’t an area, but British Isles are. Again, probably reading into the “area” thing incorrectly.

What about ocean liners or cruise ships or something? Sometimes named after royalty. T is on the board though, so pretty unlikely we wouldn’t have heard mention of a T7 if it had anything to do with ships.

I guess this also could indicate that N7 “gets the right area,” whatever that means.

Based on the above, G9 narrows it for a B4 area.

In short, I have nfi. Will keep thinking and am interested in what is coming up for D1iab.

Yeah, I was thinking queen/king/royal makes a lot of sense. First thought was sandcastle, except that doesn't really fit with the conversation they were having.

I think "correct area" just means it will get us on the right track. So like, b4 could be bird and then we know it's a bird but we have no chance of guessing which one.

G9 could be Guinevere if the royalty line is correct? No idea what the n7 could be.

Nich called B4 “most obvious” but liked B5 better. Could it be bill and we’re looking for something like sand dollar? Then bolt saying B4 gets them nowhere makes sense because bill has multiple meanings. Even if it’s not bill, B4 seems to be something that is a pretty strong homonym.

Of course I have no idea how sand dollar would fit the q/r/k we’ve discussed and certainly wouldn’t think they were the clear next clue to get something like dollar, provided we got to sand from beach.

I'm also really curious to know what the n7 is. Seems like it should be pretty obvious if our line of thought is correct? But the other words just fit too neatly to be wrong I would think.

Quack and Quail are five letters. Could it be sea gull or another type of bird? Kiwi is a four letter bird. Raven is a five letter bird.

Maybe B4 is bird, haha.

A sand dollar is a sea creature that’s kind of starfishy but not really. I’ll bet you’ve seen them before in beach shops, they’re flat, round and bleached white. Usually about the size of your palm. I found them all the time at the beach when I was growing up.

If I've ever seen them, it doesn't ring a bell. It's also possible we don't have them here.

Thoughts?

I think this tracks with the difference between B4 and B5. B4 tells us what we’re looking for (a bird) but is very broad. B5 tells us where we’re looking (beach), narrowing our scope, but also telling us nothing about what we’re after. So the next card needs to work hard for us and that’s why B5 is better (because there are birds that start with multiple letters on the card).

B4 and G9 being a great duo is bugging me.
