Gabe, I downloaded the spreadsheet and filled it out for my current game, but column R (second table) doesn't show up correctly for me. Here's the results I got. Any help is appreciated.

You aren't editing anything in the K7:P12 area, I hope?

You shouldn't be able to, since the cells are protected

Have you thought about putting in a validation of move types per stop into the spreadsheet? I started to put something together for it, but I'm going to have to start over because the approach I was taking wouldn't work.

Validation of the moves I haven't considered and am not planning to either

Excellent that it works now for you

I'm working on a spreadsheet that will check to see if a move is valid. I should have it complete by the weekend. If anyone is interested in it, I'll make it available.

My own stupid mistakes are driving me crazy.

I was thinking about the same thing last year, but then I got lazy . I did find a text file with the legal moves on a japanese website. The format seems to be x,y<tab>taxi (comma separated)<tab>bus (if applicable)<tab>metro (if applicable) \n. If you are able to somehow import the information into your spreadsheet, it could be a little less boring than typing it in from the picture. But there's no guarantee that you'll save any time and I can't vouch for the file's accuracy.

I'm also up for another game starting tomorrow or later, in case anybody wants to play.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm about 2/3 of the way thru the map, I'll should finish it sometime this weekend. I'll put it up for whoever would like to use it.

Since you're already that far, it makes sense to go ahead the way you were doing it. TIA for sharing it. Maybe I'll do something "productive" and experiment with gimp-scripting enough to create the maps automatically.

Spoiler:

I probably won't

That would be great for the maps.

Spoiler:
But as you said it probably won't happen.

I don't care about the side. If you have a preference, pick it; otherwise we rand it.

The format you played against Moocher looks good.

I created a spreadsheet to validate moves in Scotland Yard. The spreadsheet will tell you which moves are available from the selected start points. I've gone thru the data twice to try and ensure that there are no errors, but if you find an error let me know and I'll correct it.

Here's the link to the file:

Can someone rand for me and lilrascal? A starting spot for him and 5 squares for me to pick 4 from. We will self mod if someone rands and doesn't mind taking lilrascal's moves from him (no need to check them now he has the validation sheet )

cheers
