Also, I like Gamble's idea re holding an immunity, to be used (once) wenever needed. Not sure how one should get it, though -- random animal doesn't seem right. Maybe warthog, or another animal that gives no points but one immunity item, assuming no mor than two (?) people hunt it. Gazelle, maybe.

ok, how's this:

Warthog is still worth 2 points. Additionally, anyone who hunts it becomes a pacifist for the next elimination cycle. Pacifists may not vote during democracy, may not be dictator (would go to the next highest person), and are immune to elimination from democracy/dictators, but are NOT immune to elimination due to darwinism.

Fair? Fun? Balanced?

Edit: the leader would no longer be immune automatically

Democracy would take 2/3rds of the votes to vote out the leader.
