A couple of things it took me a while to realise were that they had to have a starring role and it was total and not average.

I started looking foe extras that had been in really big movies. Then I looked for people who had starred in a single big movie (child actors that are current or who went nowhere).
They I put 5 minutes into my actual list after wasting a good while on all that.

I have no idea to expect the numbers to look like for a modern year.

There are loads of movies with very few votes early on and so the few with lots of votes dominate.

But in recent times there are loads more movies. This could skew the average or the fact that low is now 2k votes rather than 17 could nullify the advantage.

Then there's foreign movies. Imdb is English language and all the foreign movies probably have really few votes. More foreign movies in modern times...

Right. But I ran into movies called "animation" when they only had a small bit of animation and the rest was live action.
I did mention that in the comments.
However, I could remove any movie that has animation. I did my picks without considering animation so it won't hurt me any.

Whichever way you want to go is OK with me. I just can't research each movie to see if it's full animation or has animated parts.

And BTW, Harrison Ford did star in a movie in 1932. I did leave it in because the 77 votes probably were from people who wouldn't have watched it if it didn't star Harrison Ford.
Also, found a 2008 movie starring "John Wayne" which luckily didn't have 5 votes.
IMDB seems to differentiate between movies with the same title (adding I , II, III etc) but not the actors with the same name.

I fine with animation in or out I don't think it makes a big deal considering what and who everyone picked.
