A) I disagree that it requires a modkill for a no post for someone who isn't any sort of repeat offender. But that's just my stance. I accept the community stance on this and I move along.

B) What would you prefer that I do? Sit out a few games as penance?

Look, I get that real life is more important than POG (hell, it is for me too), and there will be situations in which yes, people can't post and have to get subbed out. I also understand that people have jobs, and often can't post much, or at all during the day. And while I don't have a child, I also understand that is a huge time commitment and one that can be very unpredictable at times. Heck, there are days I probably shouldn't be posting at all and basically have to find time in between meetings to read the thread.

My main point is that in small games (mostly 13rs, but also 17rs as was evidenced here), it is extremely frustrating when there are certain players that routinely either do not post the vast majority of the day, or do not post at all and have to get subbed out. But only sometimes. We are then stuck in this weird situation where we have to play the game of "is this person here? Are they busy at work and going to post later? Are they pretending to be busy, using their meta of always being busy, to slank in the early game?"

It is even more frustrating when there are people like Luckbox who have basically made it their personal mission in life to ensure that these posters never get lunched D1, to the literal detriment of the village (yes I am still irritated with what happened in the most recent 13r). This gets into a whole other discussion which I should probably have with LB in private about why he acts this way, but suffice to say I think it is counterproductive at absolute best. Like, it would be lovely if I could never get lunched D1 because I have my own personal knight in shining armor ready to defend me early game no matter what.

I understand that over the last several years, POG was kind of barren and 13rs were basically never running at all - so it was basically the Wild West when it came to what is "acceptable" behavior in games. If people post 5 times a day routinely, we just roll with it because we need every single person to get a game running. You can't possibly tell me that it isn't frustrating as all hell, both as a mod and a player, to literally have someone putting effectively no effort into a game.

Like, I suggested that we have a log when it comes to people who have to get subbed out; and if you have to sub out twice or something, you then have to sub in for someone before you're allowed to play games. This would accomplish two things:

1. Only repeat offenders would be punished

2. Would allow for an easier way to get subs so that it wasn't the mod's job to beg people IFF people don't show up

I'd be more than happy to help manasi or DDDD or birdman work on this. I'm just saying that I think it's necessary. I'm frustrated when I see my friend offer to mod game after game, only to have a situation come up where the game literally would have been ruined (possibly only mitigated by the fact that lunching the seer D1 already kind of ended the game) had he not been able to find two last minute subs. Like I said. I will bow out. I get that a shitty thing happened and I'm sorry that it did. I apologized profusely in WC as soon as I saw the PM come through with the NK and heard literally nothing from Bird.

Honestly if I'd gotten a PM reminder that's all it would have taken for all the rest of that work not to have been a thing. I'm not blaming anyone, but it's a simple thing. Bird knows I was around he knows I joined WC and he knows I was excited to play. It was not intentional in any way.

In last 13er I played my heart out. If I didn't care about game integrity or about the people playing and modding who spend a lot of time I would have just given up. I thought about it. I knew it was an uphill battle. But I didn't because I have too much respect for you all. But if that's not enough then I won't play. Simple as that. I don't really want to be involved where I'm not wanted anyway.

And with regard to not wanting me lynched D1 in that game I was a wolf and so was luck. You might have done the same.

I responded to this in the LC thread. So I'll just say here that I vehemently defended you in that spot and was posting in all caps to not lunch you.
I was trying to be your knight in shining armor. It didn't work.

I shouldn't comment as I can't claim to be above the fray in this or a disinterested party. But maybe we could all breathe and reboot?

I get where bsball's coming from, but it seems like an honest mistake from two well regarded posters - I'd be happy to play with anyone/everyone that's in'd in this thread.

A. What is the mod supposed to do if they can't find subs? I don't mod games here any more so I'm happy to be wrong here, but I don't see a better option. I don't see the modkill as a punishment, btw (and therefore not something that should be reliant on the repeat/not repeated nature of the offense.

B. No. I think recognizing that AFKing a game has impacts and affects other people, and trying to be aware of that - and therefore either trying to remember to post, or, if you're too busy (like going to a bachelor party), maybe not sign up. Again, I don't feel like I'm asking for a lot.

I do not want you to bow out. I want you to try. I think it's not fair of you or IRTM to put any responsibility on birdman here - by signing up for the game, you commit to spending time on it. You also got a PM. Is it possible if you had been messaged, you might have seen it? Sure. Is it your responsibility, not the mod's, to remember when a game starts, and post? Yes, 100%.

Also yes- you did try in the 13r! At F3. You also posted zero times in two separate days (one of these wasn't your fault because majority happened) and had like 40 posts in 5 days going into F3. Again - maybe that's "fine" by most people, and if so, I'm happy to take my hat and go home. But it's frustrating that you complain to the mod both in-game and postgame that you were "excited to post before night got called early" - like, c'mon - we both know that wasn't going to be the case.

Aite dude, whatever you want to tell yourself. You know the point I'm trying to make. It's painfully obvious to anyone paying attention.

I think IRTM and CC are super nice people and I'd be more than happy to hang out with them IRL. My point, and the last point I want to make before I'll stop, is that there should be accountability for people that make a habit of not showing up for games/putting in below what I think most of us would agree is the minimum required level of participation.

Monte, if you even skim the 13r I'm referring to, you will immediately see what my point is.

Anyone know where I can find the LC Werewolf thread?

Agree with the italicized, for sure, and I have no doubt your description is accurate. I guess my response would be maybe we need to have games where we raise the minimum posting requirement (~20/day?) so everyone is aware up front of what the expectations are? Ultimately it is up to the posters to actually post, of course.

Also, let me be clear that shrug.ascii is fine for a one off, but I agree with you that a pattern, if one indeed exists, may mean [redacted] style coaching in italics might be appropriate. (I still dig both coder and irtm and want them both to play while conceding had I had the experiences that you apparently have had I might have been a bit more rustled about it.)

It's fine. I'll accept my penance. I'm out. Gl gl

I still want to and would play with CC but I'd be lying if I wasn't upset she was on my team even before she zero posted, I just generally want people who try hard and are active.

I would still like IRTM/CC to play this game, because proving everyone wrong is the best way to make up for zero posting IMO.

why are you outing because people who are not in are bitching

just play and move on

Would be super fun if someday we could get this lineup to have a live game (obviously hard to do across multiple countries) or even a zoom chat game.

Would be a blast.
