wow you guys all actually play poker?

kkc i think i shove both those hands you posted...raising the 88 and getting called just makes it difficult to play postflop, i have no problem shoving up to 25bbs bvb on a bubble with a wide range, 88 is huge here.

and with respect to sustainable roi's at the 12/180s, i think the games are getting tougher as more regs are playing them, to the point where 50% now would be considered VERY good and anywhere in the 30's and 40's is really quite good and what people should be aiming for.

Edit: the 2nd hand is a good shove as the stack sizes are set up perfectly for the small blind to fold despite being so short (in the hopes you knock out the bb) and the bb to fold (trying to outlast the sb). If you get called its not the end of the world, ICM is most important from about 4 or 5 handed in these, but people have calling ranges that are waaaay too tight before that stage

Its good to be a student with no work to do.

I don't think it will be long before I have played more hands than I did last month. 55k in May. 17k so far in June.

alright fine - i'll jump on the bandwagon.

My first 1k day (winning) was 1-tabing. Took me about 70 hands.

My first 1k day (losing) was also 1-tabling, though it probably took me around 140 hands.

My first 1000 day was playing the $30 5 man SNGs on paradise. Talk about soft. Cashing in 23 of 29 that day was extra nice though.

I remember I'd been single (and then double) tabling $10 SNGs and then moved up to $20 and $30 on Paradise. Then I deposited on Empire and had to play cash games to clear my bonus, so I two-tabled the 50c/1 NLHE games with a $50 capped buy-in and made $800 in 800 hands in one day. lol 2004. My first $1k day was probably when I was single-tabling 2/5 on TruePoker. I remember I won a pot for around $1400 when my set of aces held against a guy who tilt-shoved a draw on the flop. That was a big day for me. I wasn't even properly rolled for that at the time and going from $50 buy-in to $100 to $500 and then playing that big of a pot... but I was playing it because it was basically the softest game that has ever existed. Me and TomCollins did quite well there but then the new 2/5 game ended up busting up the fishies so I went back to sites that let me two-table.

Actually I think I may have shipped that $50 donkament on Party for $7k before my foray at TruePoker, which would explain my willingness to take shots at the 2/5 game. Sadly, that $7k day is still my best, although I came close to matching it when I stacked two people all-in preflop at Commerce 10/20. That's by far the best pot I've won, at around $4500 net gain.

I have recently gone up from 6 tabling to 10 tabling 6-max. I always found 6 tabling pretty easy but never increased it, mainly due to software limitations. I have now modded the sooftware to within an inch of its life so I can easily keep up with 10 tables and still feel I can make decent reads and follow the games well.

I have never made this much before as this is only my second day playing this kind of volume and because I have recently moved up to 100NL for the second (and hopefully final) time. So far it looks like I can cope with the increase in stakes and the increase in tables. Time will tell.
