also, i haven't had a losing session since may 10th. 11 wins in a row woo hoo

and i thought there was a fire in the casino yesterday, and told the porter who was walking by, and she thought it was a fire too, and so did all the security guards and the other players and dealers. but a smart chip runner actually walked over to check it out, and it was a red piece of paper fluttering in the wind. 100% looked just like a fire though

Guys, should I stop playing ROE?

How many hands do I need to determine that I just suck ass? What does it mean that I'm winning at a solid clip at Hold'em, and winning at a 'eh, but ok clip at 5 card PLO but I'm getting crushed at ROE?

5 Card probably just variance, and I could be a winner or loser. Hold 'em is almost certainly an actual edge, although never that high. ROE feels like my decision making is solid, but the numbers suggest otherwise.

I don't really like playing ROE for the profit reasons stated above. But it runs about 5x more often than Hold 'Em. I've probably played 90% of all Hold 'Em hands dealt on the site since Dec, and maybe 20 or 30% of the ROE hands.

But I can't help but feel like volume is one of the best ways to get better.

this hand happened a couple days ago. filipino middle aged man is villain. I raise JJ and flop is TT4. I think he was a limper, and I'm in position. i bet and he calls. turn 4. puts two flush draws on the board. I bet and he calls. river is a blank small card. he doesn't check. looks at the ceiling. pretends he doesn't know it's his action. then he asks me if I checked. i say no, then he overbets the pot $200. my read is that he has a T and he wanted to get a read on my hand strength to see how big he should bet. obviously it makes no sense for him to ask if I checked if he's first to act, then bet. but i decide to just play poker, like an idiot. I raise all my Ts, call all my 4s, and I need to find a few more calls. I guess I call all my overpairs if I have none of the suits. I have one of the suits, but I figure JJ blocks JT, so I call anyway. He has a T. thinking about it, I have more than enough Ts and 4s here that I don't have to call. certainly not at this level of play and against these opponents. still, I'm more rustled that i saw right through the angle but didn't act on it than the bad poker decision and the money.

i doubled up against him later with AA > KK. I raise $12, one guy calls, he 3! $55 from the blinds, I 4! $150, other guy goes all in for about $200, villain shoves for something like $800 eff. he was all upset, saying wtf else can he do. so at least i got him back and he was visibly upset for the rest of the session.

in that spot you have to slowroll with the AA. and before you call his all in, look at the ceiling and then say "did you go all in?"

Playing some nlol holdem before the real game and players are so much different personality than plol. Also angleier.
