It's the trivial part that bothers me. For some reason I struggled with the decision way more than I should have. By now I should make these decisions much more easily.
This is why I break it down for you - so that you can be familiar with the process of working out the pot - the draws - the ranges and hence the why's of the decision.
I really think if you get to know the maths and ranges properly - you will feel much more comfortable about your decisions.
I think my problem is that I've snap called a couple of hands lately and lost. I don't think they were all bad calls, but i wasn't thinking them through. So i think my pendulum swung too far the other way.
Pwns I think you're setting yourself to win only one bet by checking the turn whereas you'd ideally like two streets of value from 77, 79 , even trips AA and spazzes depending on your dynamics
Of course you ended up winning two bets but your line when you raise rivers pretty fishy and I'm not sure how much you get paid off imo when you check turn raise river
I think if the person's willing to pay off 1 bet with a NFD/nut straight on a paired board on the river I think they may be willing to give you 1 bet OTT too imo
I raise a257ds sb 3 bets I happily peel in position with 9psb left. Flop a25ddd he checks I stab 550 into 1000 he thinks calls I check back j turn fold to bet on ten river
Same guy makes it 300 I make it 1k with a23q nut clubs. Flop kq9 rainbow check check. Turn 3s second spade he bets 1200 I call. River 6 spades he bets a lot I fold.
I raise to 250 with aq35 double suited one caller. Flop q95 I bet 400 he calls. Turn 4 and second diamond I bet pot he calls. River offsuit king I check he puts me in for 2300 I think for a bit and call and I'm good.
first hand seems ok. probably can size smaller because i don't think his decision will be too influenced by the sizing. either he calls or he doesn't
2nd seems ok. 'he bet a lot' heh
good call on the 3rd. i think most made high hands just shovels it in and goes with it OTT ifyou're that short
i personally never 3 bet this early this deep though. i think it might be optimal to pfr small and not 3 bet and use the depth to let opponents make mistakes post flop. could just be a stylistic thing
on the third hand if he's peeling with naked TJ or wrap twice without a FD then lol him drawing to ~8 nut scoop outs equivalent. if he has wrap+turned FD then whatevers. He shouldn't be calling pfr with QJT in his hand. did he have like A29dd or something?
