for me it has a huge impact on my happiness. it's real hard to be happy when i'm competing so many hours a week and losing, and that's on top of losing money.

and of course conversely winning feels good, and money on top is even better.

It may be +EV to always pay in case the quad aces is shoving
river with a kicker that plays.

But just last year at Commerce in a hand between two regulars
at 5/10 a jackpot was killed and the guy with the quad aces and kicker that
played didn't even shove all in on the river. He just bet strong on the river
(at least pot size). The guy with pocket QQ folded what would have been
a bad beat jackpot.

So shove for value with quad aces and a playing kicker at your own risk.

Then why do you look like you are 70 years old when you aren't
anywhere near that in real age?

i got obliterated tonight. my worst session in a long time. this idiot recreational player targeted me as a fish lol! and talked trash. i lost big pot after big pot, so he thought i was terrible. i owned him soooooo hard, and he didn't even know it and just kept talking trash. i mean of course he won, but he could have won a lot more

i opened KK co 40. btn called. he was sb and made it 180. i made it 390, 1500 effective. he called. flop Q94r. he checked and i bet 390. he called. turn T. check check. river brick. check check. he had KJo!!!!!! lol!!!!! thankfully he was a ****ing tellbox

i didn't show. later he was talking trash to another guy about how bad the guy played a 4bet pot. i didn't like him so i said "you called my 4bet with KJo" he said "well that was player dependent" fml! omg! lol!

about an hour later co opens 35. i make it 150 otb with AdAh. he calls sb. flop JT4ccd. he checks and i bet 150. he makes it 450. i call. i should have folded(tell) but i just couldn't. turn brick. he bets 900. i call. then he bets 600 dark and i have about 1200 behind. river is a 6c, and i KNOW he has a set. i just know it. he is acting so cocky and talking trash in the middle of the hand. then he says "i know you don't have aces. i'll give you $100 rebate to call" i can't resist. i take the 100 and call. and of course he has TT. i KNEW he had a set. i just couldn't resist the odds. i should have went with my reads like i did on the first hand.

i also lost with AA to KK for 2500. i made it 1900 pre and he just called lol! 600 more on the flop. he rivered a flush

and again lost with AA 4k pot all in on flop JT6 to T9o

lost like 4 other big pots without ever showing my cards. this guy just saw me lose all those and figured i sucked. he also told me i looked scared when i was betting if i didn't have it

what a miserable night. im taking tomorrow off.

Just venting
I am running like absolute dog**** right now. On the plus side it is for trivial amounts since I have been sick and I have learned not to play for amounts that matter when sick, but god damn, I am running like filthy writes that he runs over the past few days. Feels worse than I have ever run, I feel like I am losing 90% of my all in hands, with probably an average equity of 55%. I'm down like 30 BIs in $5 spin n goes over the past 65. The one that got to me: KK vs A8 (or something) ai pre. I don't lose to the A I expect, the board come JJJJx. Sounds silly when I type it out, it must be the illness that is letting things get to me.

Most people who read this thread also can't play on PokerStars so I'm going to talk to you as if you don't know anything about the site.

I deposit $20 every so often and will either run it to zero or if I make a decent chunk of money I'll cash out a bunch of it. I don't cash out often but this is my hobby and $20 will usually last me a month at least of $3 tournaments and then $1 tournaments when my balance gets low. I play a $3 tournament on Saturday and get 3rd for $84 which is cool. Gonna cash out $50 and buy some fancy beer.

With my win I loosen up a little and play a $5 spin and go (3 handed hyper turbo SNG with a random prize. Most times 2x the BI but sometimes it can be 4x or 6x or some random other prize or in extreme rare cases $1,000,000). The prize is a $15 satellite ticket and I win it.

So the $15 satellite ticket is for a $215 Anniversary Sunday Million ticket. 562 entries and 34 seats given. I win a seat and it was pretty smooth sailing. I just played tight, got paid on my hands and was lucky enough to be a big stack on the bubble.

So this $215 tournament has a guaranteed $10,000,000 in prizes and a guaranteed $1,000,000 for 1st place. It's a huge tournament for me. I can count on 1 hand the number of tournaments I've played with a BI this big. The tournament is on 14th April which is great for me because I've no work to go to that day or to get up for the next day. It's also great that I've got this ticket for almost a month because if the tournament was today, I'd probably have already lost and would be over it already.

I was also doing the math and because of the guarantee they're going to need a minimum of 50,000 players which is huge.

Anyways, I thought I'd share my good fortune for anyone who cares.
