if i never have AK or AQ(which i would) AND he has JJ blocking me. that still leaves two jacks, 4 tens and 3 nines. for nine times he's gonna win 27k equaling 243k take away 9x1600 that he loses 14.4k, so 239k profit.... vs 26 kickers with no jackpot where just loses 26x1600 equaling 41.6k loss

grand total plus 198k in 35 hands for an ev of 5.7k a hand

It tilts me when I bet the other guy throws his cards in and the dealer doesn't muck them.

it tilts me when:

players don't throw their cards away where the dealer can easily reach them. they make the dealer bend over to reach for the cards.

players use too many small denomination chips

when players are flashing their cards carelessly, and other players can see the cards and i can't see them

when i announce my bet to speed up the game so the players behind me can act before i count out my chips, but they wait for me to count out my chips anyway

when rec constantly hide their stacks so i have to ask to see how much is in their stack

when im really hungry and the incompetent servers hover around me, while the competent(good looking) servers are getting other people food

when people want to do voluntary round of straddles. i have to worry about how 90% of the time there will be someone who refuses to do it when it's his turn.

This one caught my eye. It's underratedly tilting. People's looks shouldn't matter so much, but they do. They just do.

Flashing cards is a good one. Talking about what they folded while the hands still going on. Talking when it's a three way pot.

The straddling one is also a good one. And getting bullied into straddling in the first place.

aces full has to lose to quads or better. i think it's impossible for me to have KK here, but if i had KK i'd probably shove for value. i'd have to check the math. but i think it's a good shove.

Not a crazy happening, but limit hold'em seems to have all but died, here in Edmonton. Rakes went up this year, and it looks like that killed the games I used to play. There is still a decent dealer's choice game that is mostly omaha with some pineapple. It generates bigger pots, so it survives for now. It also has a bigger variance, which is annoying. I may have to develop a seperate poker bankroll and play nl if I want to play hold'em. On the other hand, it's not convenient for me to get to the games. Damn.

Yeah, not a crazy poker happening, but I played casino poker for the first time at least a couple years yesterday. It appears that live 1-2 NL players did not get better in my absence. Motherofgodcop.jpg. If I thought anything close to a $50+ hourly was anything other than random variance I'd make an effort to play.

It was helpful to have a raise monkey on my right for a while (until he busted) to ease back into things. I don't know if it was that or I've just become more of a nit, but I folded a lot of hands, especially out of position. Not hard to do when a lot of opening raises were to $15-$20. It was also helpful to have a lot of the same players rebuy and stick around.

Playing 5 - 10 I'm on the button with 5 4 . My stack is about $2K most people cover except for Cutoff with $1,200 and SB with $1,900.

We're 9 handed, player UTG opens for $35, he is in Connecticut visiting family but plays for a living in South Florida, 2 people call and I call. 3-bet is probably better and folding isn't horrible.

SB now raises to $210 in an obvious squeeze spot. Everyone calls and I call closing the action.

Pot is $1,060, Flop is K 2 3 rainbow with one . Checks to the Cutoff who shoves for $870. I think for a while and shove. Is calling better hoping to get some overcallers to increase my implied odds?

SB also shoves for $100 less than me, the other two people fold.

Turn Queen, River Ace!!!! and I rake in a $5,500 pot.

SB had KK for top set and Cutoff had Ace Five for a gutshot.

Shoving is right, I think. Whether called or not, you are getting better than 2 to 1. If you just call, you might get bet out on the turn. If you would call, I think getting it in on the flop is better.

I was trying to grind diamond for next year and accidently hit a royal. Taking forever to get paid. Maybe I don't need diamond really.

Shoutout to the 1/2 NL regs who somehow manage to be worse than me, it was awful nice of you to suck enough that I could make a small profit yesterday despite playing like complete and utter ass.

I definitely preferred playing with a mix of regs and tourists over yesterday's nearly all reg table. Should have moved but I'm a dumb.
