Perhaps I am missing something, but not many boats will be able to make it to shore in any event (3-4 leaks per boat that makes it ashore means lots of leaks. I haven't done any real gaming of the situation, but my guess is that optimal moves can't get you more than 4 to shore, and that would take some careful planning. There are at most 21 sustainable leaks (3 on each boat) then boats have to start sinking due to more leaks than crew.

it only takes 3 moves to get to shore (u are at shore when in top square, not past it on island), so 7 boats * 3 moves = 21 leaks

this is why i want back row ships to move forward

any on spot 3 (boat 5) are one 'captain' from scoring which hurts all of us because of lack of leak capacity

we don't want people to be able to do that yet, which is why i think we should go for backrows
