Pogcathlon Walrus Interest & Sign Up Thread Pogcathlon Walrus Interest & Sign Up Thread

As you may know, I am running a "Pogcathlon" where players can play as many different competitions as they want & earn points for their success in each one.

Walrus is a game wherein you select music, & other people judge your music. Standard Walrus usually has 1 host who selects all the categories, & a bunch of people submit songs & the host judges all the songs in each category.

This is going to be a different format wherein each player judges 1 category, & there is no main host. This is mostly inspired by Nick Royale's 2016 Walrus (& I was also reminded of this by the Grab Bag Draft format).

Here is the Sign-up Thread for Nick's draft, & the Reveal Thread.

All songs will be submitted to me, then I will reformat & send them out anonymously to the category judges. The category judges will rank the songs form best to worst (doing as much or as little of a write-up as they feel like), & I will reveal them in a reveal thread.

So yeah, if you want to play, in here, & select a category. Depending on interest, this will be 1 or more parallel games (don't want to make people submit/judge too many songs).

2000 or later rock songs.
For a bit of assistance into what I like (from this category) Linkin Park, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Audio Slave, Muse

Songs will be judged on
1) Overall quality
2) Replayability (but this will count for less)
3) Newness to me (a good song I've never heard will score better than a song of equal quality that I have heard of)
4) One other TBD category

My category is "One man and his _____"

you have to pick a man/woman singing + an instrument they're playing. No other musicians or backing tracks.

No guidance of what genre anything should be but I will tell you that I'm a sucker for a live performance.

I'm all for the participants letting everyone know a little about what they're judging on (e.g. "best overall" song in their category, "best little known" song in their category, "best song in their category that they've likely never heard of).

For example in my category of Beatles covers, I'm not looking for "With a Little Help from my Friends" performed by Joe Cocker or "Come Together" performed by Aerosmith. I've heard them both a thousand times already.
