I’ve got to take chicken
Not only is it one of the best fast foods, with it all fried and delicious, but you can grill it for a healthier option.

It’s versatility is unparalleled. It basically is the ruler for all food tastes. Everything is compared to it, everything new “tastes like chicken”, or at least we wish it did.

It’s used globally and is affordable. From it’s use in Asian curries, to French Coq au vin.

In England it’s the default meat joint to roast, the most commonly ordered at carver is.

In Italy they chuck it in their pasta, Germany schnitzel that beast.

From their breast to their thighs, legs and wings, chicken just is the king of all meats.

Sure who doesn’t love bacon but it doesn’t make a meal. Rib eye is fantastic but daddy gotta put food on the table for the family and have easy go to meals to reheat during the week for lunch.

KFC/ chic-fil-a, Popeyes, peri peri, wings, give me my goddamn chicken.

I'm pretty sure you have to narrow it down. The category is a specific cut/preparation.

The first two picks were ribeye steak and bacon. They weren't "cow" and "pig".

I think this is a pretty poor comparison as chicken is literally the name for the meat of a chicken whereas pig comes as undrafted/ bacon/ undrafted etc and cows are steak/ multiple undrafted

I get your point and will check the thread but as of draft starting didn’t see clarification. Will be interesting for other animals if chosen including seafood as they commonly don’t come in many other cuts/ etc.

If needed to switch will answer later today

It was kind of vague, but I think insanity is looking for a specific cut or preparation.

& I thought it was obvious that appliances would count for kitchen items.

At the risk of giving away free ideas to other participants...

If someone wanted to go with "lobster" or "scallops" I wouldn't think twice about it. Yeah, I guess you can have boiled lobster or lobster thermidor, but still -

On the other hand, there's a big difference between fried chicken, chicken parmesan, and buffalo chicken wings.

My argument there is that that, in itself, is why it is the best meat. You can make chicken Parmesan of ground chicken with any cut of it, same for gravy and processed and stews. Sure you can dive into the wings world but fried chicken can be fried any part of the chicken. That is why it is an exemption to this rule in my opinion.

I’ll go with the majority ruling but the category is clearly flawed if you would accept the other ones you names which, in themselves, are the whole animal, but won’t for chicken.

It’s the fact that chicken is the best that we now have knowledge about smaller cuts but any part can be used in many ways. It’s popularity shouldn’t devalue it. In some cultures there are hundreds of ways to prepare the other things you named, just not perhaps in western society.

This is tough! But yeah I later specified cuts/preparations, so gonna have to say it's too broad.

I do see your point tho, and it's a bad category probably!

Fair, kinda steamed at the category so just skip me and I’ll jump in when thinking about next choice more clearly.

I specifically asked about chicken in the main thread and he said he wanted more specifics

It would have already been gone if allowed to be that broad

I’ve already pm to pass. Like I said respect the decision but too tilted to pick so just continue and I’ll make up picks tomorrow UK times

Nich you also names beef and then named multiple other food options later in this thread. Whether it would have been picked is a poor point and based purely on assumption.

My view is that it’s fine but if someone names a whole animal as their pick that should not be allowed as it seems contradictory and western society dominant in opinions.

Not sure how saying chicken is any different than saying cow or pig?

I actually agree with eleanor here, maybe it's a UK thing?

Chicken doesn't have specific cuts, it's just chicken (well I suppose chicken thighs, chicken wings, chicken legs?) but they're all the same really lol

Because on a menu you can order hunters chicken or chicken tikka masallaPogcathlon Grab Bag Draft Thread - Game B

On that point bacon is different depending on location like Irish bacon and cabbage is a meal of a thick cut of bacon, I mean like 4 inches thick. Danish is also half an inch whereas American is thin as paper and fried to death

Maybe UK thing. It definitely has different parts that taste different & are prepared different ways.

I love dark meat chicken & only eat white meat chicken when obligated to.

Wangz, legs & thighs all taste different & are all delicious.

But those come with a specific part of the chicken. They don't just drop a chicken on your plate.
