Not to be a nit, but I'm pretty sure that xander just picked prime rib.

and then posted a bunch of pictures of ribeye.

Am I missing something?

This may be what you are getting at, but if left as a roast it is called prime rib, but prepared as pictured it's called ribeye.

We are supposed to pick certain cuts, and due to the "to get even more specific" language, I'd interpret this as a pick for ribeye

I am incredibly excited that the #2 overall pick fell to me in the 9th spot (Pele is obv #1).

Spoiler:

I'd agree that the pick is for ribeye, based on the pics.

From the internets:

Both prime rib and rib eye are cut from the rib of a cow.

However, prime rib is generally a large cut of beef that contains a large bone, while a rib eye is a smaller steak that is either boneless or only has a small piece of bone.

As the term implies, proper prime rib is cut from the best part of the rib. This is generally in the middle, between bones 7 and 11. This portion of the rib has a thick "cap" of heavily marbled meat that is rich and flavorful. Once a prime rib is cut, it can be sliced into smaller pieces that are called rib eyes.

Unlike the prime rib, a rib eye is simply a steak, not a big hunk of meat. It is a cut of steak from the cylindrical muscle near the rib. In some cases, rib eye may be cut from a less prime part of the rib, and it does not have all the fat and muscle of a prime rib.

Therefore, the most basic difference between the two cuts is that a prime rib will contain a rib eye, but a rib eye steak does not have all the surrounding meat that makes up a prime rib.

I consider taking Ferris first overall, but I think 1986 is decently deep in terms of good movies, so I decided to wait.

Thus concludes round 1. Donk is back on the clock. And I guess Prip can come catch up whenever?

I'm sorry if I got the lingo wrong.

IBD bought Prime Rib but then made it into Ribeye Steaks it would seem.

I would like to amend my pick to Ribeye Steaks if that's ok with everyone.

The photos from your OP make it clear you meant ribeye steak. Plus, everyone knows that ribeye steaks are better than prime rib. (Even though prime rib is excellent and I'm not disparaging prime rib in any way and if anyone is offering me prime rib then the answer is "yes, please".
