My clues:
For writing, I had both pound (writing on the money) and pan with some equity for the fourth word. Didn't even think about king
For kindling, I was going for litter; didn't consider sound. I felt there was a better clue that could capture match/straw/litter but couldn't think of it
And fry-up was a hail mary to encompass pan, pound (because it's British), and trip (likewise), with the hope that you could then potentially clean up litter (haha)

Yeah, I just shook my head when I saw the lists, it was borderline unfair. You guys did well considering what you had.
We were lucky to not have to get king, my second clue was going to be crab - 2 to pick up king and horseshoe, and then I was trying to figure out how to connect model and turkey
Having to pivot to wishbone was fortunate.
