Pogcathlon Chess Interest & Sign Up Thread - Puzzles and Other Games Forum

As you may know, I am running a "Pogcathlon" where players can play as many different competitions as they want & earn points for their success in each one.

I don't know much about chess or how it usually runs here, so I'm starting this thread so people can sign up for the chess portion of the competition over the next couple weeks, & so people who are interested can discuss the best format depending on the # of players interested, whether it be a tournament or a few randomized 1-off matches, or whatever else.

If you know someone who might be interested in this, or any other part of the competition, feel free to hit them up.

Hopefully we get some more. Otherwise, will have to come up with some sort of creative format like 3 x 3 where you play each other player in your group once & then the winner determined by who knows what if each player is 1-1.

What happens when someone takes too long to make a move, does it get randed from all possible legal moves?

If there is no actual penalty then I don't like my chances in this pool

I hope that person gets punished, something like two strikes and you lose a game, four strikes and you’re out.

I am def not going to play if there are any random moves involved at any point.
