Rules for forum play

1. As opposed to the usual game, I will mod all games & rand a themed word list, secret word, and Chameleon from using a spreadsheet Carl has created.

2. Non-chameleons will be sent the list plus secret word and the chameleon will be sent the list only.

3. Players post their clue word in this thread in spoiler tags. You cannot change this clue once it has been posted. Don’t edit these posts. DO NOT look at any other clue words until you have posted yours.

4. Clues are supposed to be one word. We can be less nitty in this game than in codenames. Hyphens, acronyms, and the like are all fine.

5. Once all clues have been posted, debate as to the identity of the Chameleon can begin. (No need to wait for mod to announce) Nothing said in the thread is binding. PM your official vote to the mod, after which point it cannot be changed. Let’s set a 24 hour maximum time to send in a vote after debate has begun.

6. Mod will reveal the votes. If the Chameleon is correctly identified, they can attempt to guess the secret word right in the thread.

7. Ties: In a 5 player game, 2 v 2 ties are broken by making the odd player re-vote. (Note that this is only necessary if the chameleon is one of the tied players.)

Chameleon is caught by village, can't guess word: 20 points to all villagers, 0 to chameleon

Chameleon is caught by village, can guess word: 10 points to chameleon, 0 to villagers

Chameleon escapes vote: 20 points chameleon, 0 to villagers.

Voting the chameleon as a villager: 5 points (self voting is not allowed)

Wait until I post that all PMs have gone out to make your word selection.

Sorry for the delay. I had a 6 PM shift tonight at work.

Anyhow, Prip's clue is about as generic as I've ever seen. Seems like a good place to start.

Actually, TN's clue covers pretty much the whole board as well. But I do like the symmetry of his clue and his 2p2 name...

if had to think of how I would approach questions/concerns

Prip- I think I am Ok and would ask nothing right now (not clear but you are my least concern ATM)

PK - Is good if he means what I think he did..I will have an easy question for PK tomorrow...one that can't possibly cause any spew but could lock clear him.

TN - I don't get it but he gives tricked up clues. Everyone there is from the Northern Hemisphere. .

Bolt - I don't want to give you a read one way or another. I'd like to feel out your posting not knowing what I/we think..

Me. Yeah, I know I only directly remove 3 (maybe 4), but I am not choosing a clue that hits so many people without having a way to clear myself. There will be no "if you think really hard, or you'll have to trust me." If people have concerns with mine I can clear if needed..

I'll probably be checking in later than most. Probably noonish server..

I don't want to spew a lot right now. But since you called me out, I'll just say that I went with "revolutionary" and not "revolution". And I'll just leave it at that for the moment.

And since you're offering, AK, if you have a non-spewy way to clear yourself without giving any ammo to the chameleon, please do so.

And with that, I'm off to bed. I'm expecting to wake up to 3+ pages of posts

It’s between bolt and Prip for me, and I know which way I’m leaning. PC’s clue clears him 100%. I’m pretty satisfied with AK’s as well.

I realize my clue covers a lot of territory, but I’m confident the villagers will see me clear as well.

I'm definitely not done sleeping yet but arrived to check in on the game. I was hoping one of you would see the light and clear me by now. You might have to put your back into it and stoop down a level to unearth the meaning of my clue.

Big day of March Madness coming up! Who do you got?

Maryland vs LSU - the turtles won't be able to keep up with the Tigers in this one. I like LSU in a not-very-close game.

Wofford vs Kentucky - can the Terriers upset the Wildcats? I like the upstart from a small conference to make some noise against a very vulnerable Wildcats team. Take the points!

Florida vs Michigan - you know I'm rooting for my Gators in this one.

Murray State vs Fla State - well the Seminoles are my archrivals. I'm rooting for the tribe to go down and Murray State might have the ammo to do it. Ja Morant might be the best player in the tournament (other than Zion). I'm picking the Racers to pull it off here.

Baylor vs Gonzaga - the days of Gonzaga being an unknown are in the way distant past. The Bears are going down. Gonzaga is a legit number 1 seed.

Minnesota vs Mich State - I love this Big 10 matchup. A lot of controversy surrounding the Spartans and their leader, Tom Izzo, but they'll pull it together for the win today.

Villanova vs Purdue - More Wildcats? Villanova is coming off an impressive run the last few years and they're the pride of the Big East. But Purdue is for real. And they've got the best college nickname in the land. Give me the boys from the midwest on this one. Purdue will advance.

Auburn vs Kansas - The Kansas Jayhawks are one of the most storied programs in college basketball. The Auburn Tigers are one of the most storied programs in college football. We all know that football > basketball and the boys from down south are going to make it happen. Give me Auburn.

At this point, I’m pretty much at vote Prip and don’t say anything else.

I'm fine with not saying more. No reason to give any unnecessary info to the chameleon. But I'd still like to hear Prip out before I make up my mind.

I am not voting until I understand what TN means and until I hear from Pk. As I said. pK can lock clear with no spew. Bolt. In the post where you talked about revolution vrs revolutionary that was helpful.

It’s not something I would put down under normal circumstances, but I had a flash of inspiration. It’s very much associated with the word.

The fact that I can lock clear PC with no posts from him should help clear me as well. I’d lay money that you have the same idea as me.

We could have the same thing with PK, or we could not. My thing is I want to make sure he knows what he did... TN, you recall our last game.. Nich and I both cleared you on Ali, but Nich misread your hint but I got it.. I cleared bolt and misread his hint, and NIch got it. I am more suspect now from that and other games that I might be reading what I want into things.

I feel my knowledge of the secret word person is not strong, but still above average, and I don't get your clue. I can think of one really "not well known" angle.. and that is not so much about the person.

And, unlike you, I don't like voting Prip at all.. You do...

So, right now I can only logically look at you..

I knew the "keep quiet and vote Prip" strategy wouldn't work. Prip is still who I'm looking at the most closely right now, but I wouldn't mind seeing TN give me a better reason to clear him entirely.

And AK, we handed the Statue of Liberty to insanity on a silver platter. Let's not do that again.

No we didn't. I spewed nothing in that game. You kept spewing well after you were clear, and insanity said he got it when we all got his 9-10 maybe 11 reference.. That was very early in the game..

Go back and read how insanity said he got the clue... go back and read all the "extra" spew you made after you were clear.. I could not have spewed because I did not need to clear myself..

Alright. Fine. I'll take the hit for that one.

I have spewed enough. Everything needed for anyone who knows the word to clear me is in my posts. I just hope I haven’t given too much away.

Again, PC is lock clear from his clue alone, and bolt is lock clear from his posts (one in particular).
