A little bit late but a good black friday deal (still active):

Looking for a DVR?

Tivo Bolt for $450 w/lifetime subscription

This is a great deal for a Bolt. It includes 4K support and commercial skip.

Here's another option for a DVR. It records over-the-air broadcasts in HD.

Channel Master DVR for $249. We cut the cord with this a couple of years ago and haven't regretted it.

Okay, I'm a fan of Android pay and NFC payment systems but I used Walmarts "Walmart Pay" tonight. As a QR code system, I was dubious... But it is as fast or faster! I'm sold. (The free cash is nice too)

I need help. I am writing with the onscreen keyboard. If I type with the regular keyboard it does completely crazy things. Each letter I type causes multiple keystrokes including both letters and other stuff. It may cause the window to go fullscreen or it could be like hitting enter or four random letters could appear. I rebooted and all cookies in my browser were lost. I was logged out of everything. I don't know what's wrong. This is not a joke. Please help.

Try not dipping your fingers in water before using.

Boot into the bios. Does it still occur there?

Boot into safe mode. Does it still occur there?

sorry soah I thought you were having problems with a touchscreen so moisture seemed like it could be a thing

typing with a standard keyboard and getting those problems...

your computer has aids, BATM has the only cure that I know of and his cure is more AIDS but it may cancel some of the issues out, PM him

On phone now. Problems have increased such that the onscreen keyboard is only half functional now. Regular keyboard is largely nonresponsive rather than doing the random things like before. Attempting to reach safe mode failed. The system sometimes thinks a key is being held down but not always the same one. No idea what to do now.

If you want help...from POG.
The least you can do is list the exact specs of your device.

I'm pretty good at troubleshooting, even things I've never personally used, your description of the problem is frustrating because I don't feel like I can honestly help with the information you have provided yet it feels like something I could easily figure out with the proper info.

unplug the keyboard. notice the on screen keyboard now works. buy a new keyboard. problem solved.

soah this might be a dumb question but did you get any sort of moisture inside it?

That's happened to me loads and only when I spilled stuff on my keyboards. As it seeped in switches would cross activate and further usage worsened the problem. A little water can be less of a disaster than it sounds, stuff like milk is bad. It sounds like a hardware issue other than the cookie thing which you may have done accidentally due to your keyboard messing up? Although you say the on-screen keyboard is going, you can confirm it's a hardware issue by doing what Chips Ahoy said and Mark K. In such a case damage would have extended to the point keys activate without pressing from adjacent charge which would interfere with on screen sources so I recommend trying a usb keyboard

Try cleaning thoroughly under the keys and drying if replacing isn't an option. dirt can do it

Is it a laptop? I hope not and am sorry if it is, might need repairs if you're unwilling to use it only with a usb keyboard.

Other less likely scenarios involve the motherboard and stuff but you should do what mark said first (or see if another keyboard fixes it) and check the keyboard is broken by pressing the buttons displayed at start up to get into bios/uefi and see if they work there because that would indicate a software issue. gl

Tried kratom since it's about to go schedule 1. I took a large dose because why not. Mild euphoria, light sedation, pain reduction and I was content just to lay in the quiet with my eyes closed and float for several hours. Very therapeutic effect.

It's a laptop so unplugging the keyboard isn't possible. I spilled a tiny biy of wine next to the lapyop before this happened though I didn't think it actually touched the laptop. How can I try drying it out? Never opened up a laptop before.
11-27-2016 , 11:24 AM
It must be moisture. Just now the touchpad started acting screwy as well. I guess the cookies problem was a fluke coincidence.
11-27-2016 , 11:45 AM
I tested each key again except the function keys. It no longer does the weird thing of registering multiple incorrect keystrokes. The number row all works excpt for one key. Half of the qwertyuiop row works. Few of the next row work and none of the bottom row work. I turned the laptop upside down but I don't have the tools onhand to open it.

Ugh, kratom hangover.
