So one of the things that we have now is that my daughter will most likely want to meet with the judge on her behalf and there are certain witnesses here (primarily her therapist and school counselor) who we will also want to testify, yet having to do so in TN would be pretty prohibitive. Would this be something that would be considered if we filed in TN but requested a change of jurisdiction?
Jurisdiction is generally not a question of convenience, unfortunately.
It is a limitation on the scope of the court-in-question's power.
Has your daughter lived in WA for 6 months? I thought I saw something about that when scanning the WA code.
Be careful, though, that you don't end up on the wrong side of a Contempt action for violating the existing Order.
You really should speak with an experienced, WA family law attorney. You should be able to find someone to spend an hour with you for maybe a hundred bucks. Look for "unbundled legal services", "low-bono representation", "limited scope attorney".
You can also ask the Washington State Bar or a Legal Aid organization to help you locate these services.
