Dentist who use fancy gizmos for cleaning do it for their convenience more than anything else IMO. My last cleaning was done by a dentist using a good old fashioned dental pick and it barely hurt.

Perhaps. But I love the feeling after getting your teeth cleaned. My tongue loves the smooth polished feel.

Think of it as saving your heart from disease and minimizes things that could contribute to inflammation.
