Now that I reflect on it, it's entirely unacceptable how little drinking I've done lately

Watching the pilot of Breaking Bad makes me realize how amazing The Wire is. This is supposed to be the best show on right now and candidate for top 5 and it isn't even close to the same universe as The Wire.

Breaking Bad is an OK show.

Everything more is pure hype.

The character development pisses you off, and not in the Game of Thrones intentional "pissing the reader/viewer off" way.

yus. I need to save that gif because I end up looking for it about once every other month and not finding it.

psa: google image search now has a thing, if you hit the button search tools, under type choose animated. makes finding gifs trivial.

Never seen either one. Probably should fix that at some point.

Until then..

Perhaps, I'm starting to like it.

Really, the problem is that it was the cheapest beer in the shop and I was expecting an ultralight lager that resembles water, and got... something else.

If it were a little less heavy and more drinkable it would be Yuengling, which is my hands-down favorite cheap beer. (Been lobbying my local liquor store to find a way to order it for me.)

What's that gif showing/saying?

I usually hate Family Guy but that's amazing

Plus it makes me feel like a hipster sheep and terrible

I find it impossible to watch any show whose title doesn't make any sense to me. I was unable to ever make sense of Breaking Bad and therefore I have no desire to ever watch any of it. The same was also true of 30 Rock and it took so long for me to discover its meaning that still to this day I just assume it must be terrible.

30 Rockefeller Plaza is pretty famous yo, also in most of the show's advertising/credits

Breaking Bad is slang for becoming a criminal

Wire is so overrated. Krayz, if you don't have enough taste to appreciate Breaking Bad, I pity you. I pity you!

Game of Thrones is a pretty good TV show. I have just finished reading the 5 books and what I don't like is....bovious spoilers following

Spoiler:
How the hell is he going to wrap this thing up in two more books?
(a) The Whitewalkers have not come out in force.
(b) Danaerys has not crossed the Yellow Sea and is stuck in the middle of nowhere with no army and no control over the one dragon she has.
(c) Winter has only just come.
(d) Martin himself is like 70 years old and takes 5 years per novel.
(e) If he is sure that he can do it and wrap it up in two books whilst still living and writing for the show and the promos and stuff ----> My gut feel is that the climax is going to come too quickly all at once against the background of spending 5 books with very little movement in the very large fantasy apocolyptic elements.

The real question is how the hell they are going to do the TV show without running 10 seasons.

He finished the second to last book - he just has one left so that should be fine.

i am on board with Ice & fire books that move at breakneck rather than glacial speed

like climbing a mountain for 15 years then jumping off

Man, you really did lose the genetic lottery. You don't have to think it's GOAT but ok? Just ok? What's wrong with you?

Just shave it all off, it's already too late.

I agree it will take a long time to adapt it to TV.

Spoiler:
The solution, which isnt really a solution, is that if he was to re-write it again he should chop out Daenarys and the dragons and the whitewalkers and maybe just have two superstitous elements the red vag monster and Bran the shapechanger. Clearly the main dramatic elements that have made it popular as a TV series remain - the Game of Thrones and the intrigue.
Obviously - we cannot time travel - but I cannot see how he gets to the have the threat of the zombie army marching South and a DragonQueen invading - all in two books when it took Jaime like 3 books to make it back to Kings Landing.

he's not gonna finish the books. he is probably sick of them. and he's rich enough now where he doesn't have to bother doing what he doesn't want to do.
