I'm reading about Istanbul (going tomorrow) and it keeps referring to the European part of town and I'm thinking isn't that a bit racist, then I realise it's the bit of town that's actually in Europe, rather than the other half which is actually in Asia.

Make sure you get some balik ekmek, probably the greatest street food I've come across. Tried to recreate it over here but it's just not the same.

i once went into a dry cleaning place and the woman was out back and she shouted through to me and i shouted back and we had a brief shoted conversation, then when she came through to the front, she looked at me and said, 'oh, gaijin', and started complaining about how big my suit was.

felt very heavy, could tell my back rounded just a bit.

that's all the bumper plates that fit on the damn bar so I guess it's time to find a new gym with skinnier plates.
Nice lift.

I applaud your decision not to wear a belt.

What does the belt do?

Kony tells me that the Georgia Bulldawgs are free money at -11.5

Take it to the bank, y'all.

stabilizes the midsection. you cinch it up real tight and push your gut into it.

lots of guys wear one for every exercise, to get a drink of water, etc

I don't even own one.

I do own straps (some guys can deadlift more than they can hold) (mine cost $5) but I don't use them.

I'm not interested in how much weight I can lift with various accessories, just what I can do as they say raw.

Sheep League Season Game 3 is up! It's not too late to join! You need to play 6 of 12 to be eligible for the playoffs!

this kid is way smaller than me and he can DL 645x4 with no belt and no straps (he uses sumo style which I've not tried yet).

he's world class, just set a record in his association DLing 751 @ 204lbs.

you'd like him exxy, he's a vocal performance student.

What is the practical application of being able to lift that much weight?

09-30-2013 , 06:32 PM
being able to beat up anyone who tries to harass your girlllllll
09-30-2013 , 06:33 PM
oh god, and that is why u arent supposed to bench without someone to spot you...

Strong people are harder to kill, and more useful in general.

cant he slideeee underneath that weight forward...
09-30-2013 , 06:36 PM
that guy is benching like 115 pounds how can you even fail at that?

I've never used a spotter for bench in my life, and it's by far my worst lift.

if you slide underneath the bar will end up on your neck. you roll the bar down your body.

I had to do it once years ago, it's not that bad apart from being embarrassing.

I think you're favored to win, but I'll do it. I'm not going to watch the game, though, so pm me with my new avatar. If I like it, I may keep it for longer than a week.

filthy, I wasn't crazy about Top of the Lake either . I thought it was OK.

kokiri, have fun in Istanbul! Everyone seems to love Turkey.

Don't forget the dressing and the mashed potatoes, kokiri.
09-30-2013 , 06:57 PM
lol, that's why you don't clip the weights on if you're by yourself

Great success with the $20 trick. Room itself is not bad either, although it's not a suite.
