Was in a bar with an Argentine guy and a Swiss girl. This song started playing. I made some comment about it (I think we'd already been discussing the music that was being played there). They had no ****ing clue who it was. I was amazed.

Though, still not as bad as neither my mom nor my sister being aware of a song called Welcome to the Jungle.

lol

But yeah, I guess maybe it's a cultural/country thing then? It probably just isn't popular in Denmark.

edit: or Switzerland or Argentina

BLUT AUS NORD - Epitome II

I destroy because for me everything that proceeds from reason is untrustworthy. I believe only in the evidence of what stirs my marrow, not in the evidence of what addresses itself to my reason. I have found levels in the realm of the nerve. I now feel capable of evaluating the evidence. There is for me an evidence in the realm of pure flesh which has nothing to do with the evidence of reason. The eternal conflict between reason and the heart is decided in my very flesh, irrigated by nerves.

I just figured that the musical style and voice would be recognizable.

They played a stadium in Argentina with tickets going for 200 USD, so it's not like people there aren't familiar with their music.

Yeah, still not sure how I feel about this. I pick up the car Wednesday afternoon, and start heading home with it (assuming it checks out). Guess soon thereafter I'll know if I got ripped off.

But there are indeed a lot of reasons this is safer than buying some random piece of cheap electronics off eBay. For one thing, I won't pay until I actually see the car and the title, so I can't be falling for the biggest scam out there, which is just not getting the item you bought. That's huge.

For another, I've spoken with the owner. Not guaranteed, of course, but there's at least some likelihood I'd sense something off if I were getting cheated. (He has perfect eBay feedback, btw, with hundreds of transactions.)

There's the carfax, too, which doesn't exist for computers.

Finally, a weird little twist: The model I'm buying, in this particular color, is almost always in good condition. A lot of S2000s have been abused, but I've never heard of it happening to a blue one.

Anyway, I acknowledge that notwithstanding this is not the wisest thing I've ever done.

Did cross finally decide to get a decent computer? If yes, good. The things worth splurging on are those with which you spend the greatest time or that otherwise affect your life a lot; most of us here are on our computers a lot (way too much), so it's a good thing to get right. (Relatedly: I was at the Apple Store yesterday having my Time Capsule looked at, and had taken my computer. When the tech guy saw the specs on the latter, he actually called over a couple of his coworkers to see — I don't think they'd ever seen a 17" MBP set up as beefily as this one is.)

Bad is definitely the GOAT U2 song. They've got some decent tracks, but I could never see myself getting really excited about them ever. If someone said they were a massive U2 fan, I dunno, the music just seems a bit too dull to get really excited about.

@ atakdog

I'm almost 100 % sure that you've already answered this question before, but:

To what extent does pup have experience with/knowledge of werewolf? Like, have you introduced it to him and has he played it with his friends? Has he railed you play it on the forums? And would you ever actually encourage/be okay with him playing it online?

Should I buy this?

I like science fiction but I never read fantasy.

From what I've read about this series, I've never been able to tell if I would like it.

Didn't you get really upset when it was reposted here? I'm glad you see now that toast is nothing to be ashamed of. Are you and Annie back on good terms too now? We can all get along in harmony, y'all!

It's really more European medieval political intrigue than fantasy.

yes I love the part of medieval history where dragons are flying around and a horde of frozen zombies attack the world over a 700-foot wall of frozen ice
