Agreed, but Unfortunately, it's gotten to the point where ignoring it is now willful ignorance. The numbers are staggering and with each player who passes, we are seeing that it holds, pretty much regardless of age, position, or play time. It's to the point that I can't watch any sport with head contact with a clean conscience. Unfortunately hockey is next and that makes me sad because I love the game, but while I used to cheer every big hit, now I cringe and have to look away. How long before that guy laid out on the ice snaps and takes his family with him? How much better am I than the ones who cheered the lions on at the coliseum?

I think that football and boxing are comparable. There's probably not enough study to show how MMA compares. I don't think rugby would be as bad as football. Would you distinguish between league and union?
